Third Generation Springhill Suites-Henderson NV.

Stayed this past weekend at the new Springhill Suites in Henderson on a super cheap rate($40)because CES had made the othe properties out of budget for me.
The new lobby concept looks great-but is not functional as the rounded spaces make the seating for breakfast limited. But it looks nice and interesting(and empty-despite a full hotel)when not used this way.I have thought this would be the case when I saw the sketched for the new design at roll out.Nobody was using this area as a living room as was planned.

Speaking of the breakfast-the food service area is way too small-total Bedlam in the morning.

Room design is pretty nice.Colorful wall treatments/carpeting/upolstery.Build quality is ok-not great.I could hear my neighbors leaving in the morning(when I was trying to sleep)but did not get to much noice bleed between the rooms.

Housekeeping staff needs to be fired! The one crew servicing my floor were loud(really really loud)and did a poor job.Rather than prop open the door with a jamb or a rolled cloth they were using the privacy latchand letting the doors slam against the jamb. I counted(yes it was that annoying)and they left the room, letting the door slam while they went to their cart 33 TIMES while they were servicing one room! And they did a lousy job!Hair on sheets/ floors/bathtub upon checkin, soap not replenished, surfaces not clean. A letter to the GM has already been written about this.Other staff members were friendly and courteous.

The other negative for this property is the location.Because of the dead stop of construction in the area there is NOTHING of interest in the immediate area
It is close to the 215/95 split withot being too close(did not hear any freeway noise) but there is nowhere to eat(save for pizza or chinese fast food)nearby and you are surounded by unfinished building projects-and the Towne Place Suites on the other side of the parking lot.Trips to the strip were a good 20-30 minutes each way.So not really a good alternative to strip hotels if that is your goal.Green Valley Ranch and Sunset station are both about 10 minutes away.

I don't think I will return to this place at it really did not suit my needs very well but if you have work out in this area and are out in the AM before the Roller Derby house cleaning crews come in it might be a place to consider.

Can't speak for myself, but I booked my family (5 adults) on this past 4th of July weekend trip out there. It was the only MR property available in the area under $80 all-in that could sleep 5 (2Q + sofabed).

They had a car, so being near the Strip wasn't a priority.

Not being frequent travelers, they nevertheless raved about their stay, from the room size and decor, to the ample-sized breakfast, to the gym equipment. With free brekky + internet + kitchenette + room size, they were surprised it was so cheap.

Sounds like it's worth checking out for myself.
