I have 5 banked night this year and will get for sure 4 additional ones.

1) As I understand my 9 miles will not roll over into 2010, right?

2) If I add an extra night to get to 10 nights, will I be silver elite for the whole 2010 year or only for the remainder of 1009?

3) What do you think. Is silver elite really worth anything? I might stay 10 or 15 days again at Marriott in 2010.

1. Correct, only nights above a threshold roll over.

2. If you qualify in 2009 for silver, you will be silver through February of 2011.

3. Silver is worth almost nothing. You do get a small bonus on earned points.

Just get the Credit Card
 

You will be silver if you get the Marriott Credit Card.

For room upgrades I didn't find a big difference until platinum.
