Plat Questions

I have not found the answers to a few questions via "search."

1)Do incidental charges at the restaurant and pantry, when charged to the room and show-up on the bill, count toward points?

2)How long does it take to post points? I had two paid nights followed by one reward night at the same hotel. The reward night shows and the paid not – four days later.

3)Do reward nights count toward qualifying status nights?

Yes, and you'll also get your platinum bonus points on these too (i.e. another 50% on top)

Depends on the hotel - its normally within a week (2-3 days now I find staying mainly in the UK), but, you can't report the stay to be missing for 10 days, so, just be a bit patient and hope for the best, it does sound like there might be a problem in this instance

No, nor towards promotions or anything else (this isn't Hilton :D)

It almost always takes 48 hours for my nights to post (after checkout), sometimes 72 hours.

A few weeks ago, a 4-night stay didn't post within that time frame, so I knew something was wrong. So I waited the required 10 business days and called the Plat line. I faxed a copy of my invoice directly to the person who was helping me on the phone and less than 48 hours later everything was credited properly to my account (both points and nights) including my Plat arrival bonus points.

Only at full service properties (i.e. Marriott and Rennaisance). Limited service properties Courtyard, Residence Inn, Townplace, Springhill Suites, and Fairfield Inn you only get credit for the base night rate. Incidentals don't count. For many elites, that is one of the major gripes with the Courtyard brand.

Jon, I didn't know that. Great info.

Thanks all! I have stays lined up at FS properties as the pricing is below my max and I do room service when alone.

Still do not have credit for the two missing nights - will wait the 10 days and call plat desk.
