Hi CNWO4LIFE,

I apologise for being demanding. But are you asking if 4PM late check out benefit is available at this property?

Since T&C states that "upon request, 4 p.m. late check-out worldwide, subject to availability at resorts and conference locations" & this is a resort, "all late checkouts are subject to availability."

More information over at the property's website:

This W is a resort? Because I see nothing on the site that says this.
Maybe they should change their name to reflect this. Like "W South Beach Resort". Since it is not designated on the web page as a "resort", I think trying to get out of the 4pm checkout is a little lets say cheesy.
As a matter of fact I do not see the word resort anywhere on that site. So to be clear, are you saying the W South Beach is a resort?

Starwood Lurker gave us a list of resorts here:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/9926051-post184.html

If the W South Beach is indeed a resort, could it please be added to the list?

The last time that William updated the list was in October 2008. It might be helpful to review all of the properties that have entered the Starwood family since then, either thru acquisition or as a new built, to see if other updates are required.

As you should have since the word resort or conference center is no where to be found.

Hi all,

Besides my hotel records indicating this as a resort, the hotel site which I have linked up in my previous post has indicated their late check out policy.

I have also called up the front desk to confirm if they are a resort.

What I can do now is to write to my colleagues at the property to confirm this.

Thanks Thyetus for your work on this. I think you could see how some of us would question this check out policy if they are not listed as a resort.
Also could you ask what rooms are upgradable, the Fabulous Studio, or Fantastic Suite?

The W is a resort? I'm shocked, just shocked. I listed that thread up thread for someone. If I've given bad information, please accept my apologies.

Can this "special condition" be moved to lower right corner of the front (main) page of the property? I totally missed that on the special conditions page.

I read that whole article and searched. It says nothing about this property being a resort.

Thyetus is checking into this. If it is a resort, then the property, the brand, and the local Starwood regional authorities recognize it as such. And, if that is the case, then the T&C's and our list here will be amended to reflect that.

Amazing is it not, but then after opening and folks asking for 4pm check outs, it becomes a resort, maybe. Kinda like changing the rules after the game started. I am also trying to find out what this property considers to be a select standard suite, so if anyone know please clue us in. Thanks.

Does a hotel just get to arbitrarily say it is a resort or a conference center? Or is there some type of step(s) that must be gone through with Starwood to get one or the other designation?

If so, I'm also rebranding MYSELF: "The UAfan Resort."
Kinda catchy, don't ya think?

Back OT... nice to have a beachfront *wood option in SB. Looking forward to checking it out!
