Sheraton Harrisburg/Hershey [Master Thread]
A great remodel. 10th Floor Club room. Very tastefully decorated. New carpet and new furniture. In line with the "Ralph Lauren" inspired/based remodel at another Sheraton -Orlando North. Best of all, Bliss bath products -- no more Jergens!! They could not do much about the odd layout of the common spaces, but they were tastefully and fully remodeled as well. Only complaint - no Sheraton Sweet Sleeper mattress and clunky 20 inch television. Otherwise, an easy 8 out of 10, and certainly, one of the nicest Sheraton rooms I have stayed in for a while.

Any recent stays Sheraton Harrisburg/Hershey?
Have not actually stayed in the hotel since it became a Sheraton; although I have been there for meetings.
Anyone with actual recent room stay comments? TIA |
I stayed there a couple of weeks ago. Location is a bit weird, but the hotel was very nice. I was located on the club floor. The club itself is also well done. I did not eat there, just grabbed a couple of granola bars in the morning. I did not notice if the bed was a sweet sleeper, but it was very comfortable

mods: can you add a link to this thread to the master list, and update that the Four Points Harrisburg has left to the master thread?
I'm about to check out after a 1 night stay. I was given a room on the 9th floor, one floor beneath the club. Spg.com/mobile app showed the hotel selling suites a few minutes after check-in, but I didn't follow up. Room is fine. 42" flat screen, HVAC is one of those in-wall units, but it's controlled by a wall panel. Strange "vibration" noises can frequently be heard, I'm fairly close to the elevators (my profile says otherwise), so that's probably it. I hit the club several times during my stay. During off-hours, there is a stocked fridge and packaged granola bars, etc. At night, there was one hot option (coconut chicken), cheese and crackers, and cherry pie (horrible). I stopped backed a few hours later to see if anything had changed; it hadn't, but the lounge was a lot busier with a few groups hanging out. This morning the lounge was full, not enough seats for the people trying to use it. Typical cereal, oatmeal, fruit, and what looked like hot breakfast sandwiches. Yogurt, juice, and coffee available on the side bar. Decent variety, but it was all "out of the box" food, and nothing appeared to have been made from scratch. The gym is mid-sized. ~4 treadmills, ~4 ellipses, free weights, a universal machine or two. They've got Comcast DTA (digital tuning adapters) hooked up to the ellipses, but it appears that the channel up/down buttons on the machine don't control the dta (and there was no remote), so the only choice was the weather scan. There's also an indoor/outdoor pool (outdoor currently closed), but I didn't see anyone using that. Free wifi, but the signal was very weak in my room. There is a lan connection available on the desk. Two electrical outlets on the desktop. Overall, nothing spectacular, but a serviceable hotel. |
Back here again for another stay. I was pre-upgraded to a room (saw it online yesterday) on the club floor. They seem to be busy, I heard them tell another Plat that they couldn't give him a Club room. However, I had to prompt the front desk agent for my amenity, she didn't seem to register that I was Plat.
The lounge is open from 5:30p-9:30p at night, but when I swung by at 8:45 looking to grab some dessert (even with my horrible pie experience last time), I was told it was all gone. I made a crack about calling down for more, and the hostess said she had done that earlier, and that she "had been busy from the time she opened until 7:30 or 8:00". If things ran out by 8:00, and the lounge was open for another 90 minutes, I would hope that there would be processed in place to restock, and not just tell guests that things have run out, but that apparently isn't the case. I'm at the end of the hall but wifi appears to be better this time. |
stayed here last year for 4 nights. i thought it was a nice hotel. got upgraded to a suite on club floor. club lounge was very nice. staff were super friendly. and free parking

Very Nice Hotel
I stay at the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey very frequently. The front desk staff is exceptional, almost always get my room preference. Club lounge is well laid out and well staffed. Food is plentiful and nice variety on different days in the lounge Rooms and beds are very comfortable. Pools (indoor/outdoor) are extremely nice. Gym is large and well maintained. Overall a very good property with great service. Only issue is that the wireless internet access in rooms near the elevators are have poor to almost no connectivity and the 01 and 02 rooms can hear elevator noises.

It could also be elevators - rooms x01-x04 have regular, loud elevator sounds. I'm shocked if the report above of a rehab just 3-5 years ago is accurate - it's in dire need. Big stains in the carpet on multiple floors, lots of broken components, etc. Wireless is currently running at about 100kbps - barely useable. The lounge is pretty well stocked, it could be OK with some TLC, and the price is relatively low, but I'll chose elsewhere in future visits. The local SHS and the new FI are great. EDIT: Add in the bi-weekly 6:40a pounding of the trash bins outside - wakes me up every time. |
Anyone stayed here to go to Lancaster, PA and Dutch country? Looking for a inexpensive family getaway and seems to be the closest SPG with Points option available.

Sheraton Hershey
One night stay on a saturday in September. Solid Sheraton with good plat recognition. Lounge is small but hot items in the evening and full breakfast buffet coupons were given to my entire party for the stay.
Internet was slow and wifi was shaky the further you were away from the elevators. During our stay, one elevator was out of service. The "tower" rooms are in better shape (9,10th floor). Concourse rooms looked a bit worn. Indoor\outdoor pool was excellent and evenings, played a movie on the big screen out on the pool deck. Cleo |

York, PA is farther from Hershey, but same distance from Lancaster. Area is pricier than one would anticipate, especially in the fall. I have spent a good bit of time in the area, if you would like some recommendations, send me a PM. |
I live in this area. The Sheraton is 10 minutes to Hershey, 30-40 to the GOOD Lancaster attractions, 25 to York, but York is a dump (notice my location). About 45-50 to Gettysburg.
Feel free to reach out to me for suggestions. The hotel is a decent hotel. Other than this, there is a FS Marriott in Lancaster and a Hilton in Harrisburg |
I stayed here on awards res about 3 years ago and was pretty disappointed overall with the condition of the hotel. Nothing in particular, just outdated and musty. There is a group from our neighborhood hitting Hershey in August and we usually book the Holiday Inn across the street. The pool area at the Holiday Inn is very nice, but the rooms are comparable to the Sheraton. I'm debating using points again and staying at the Sheraton this year and saving the $250 for the two nights and just drive across the street to hang at the pool so kids can be with their friends. My question...has the Sheraton been upgraded in the last few years? Kids are giving me a hard time about not staying in same hotel as their friends.

No UG that I am aware of.

Take what you saw and add 3 years of age to it. I stay there regularly.
