By credit do you mean points, or just night?

Hi Christina,

can you confirm if the $100 dining credit from Amex FHR covers the dining at Pied Piper?

I am planning to book a stay next week. Also, the breakfast credit of $20 pp cannot even cover the bill for 2. This could be a good suggestion to the hotel to change for SF premium location.

Hi zoneflyer,

We received hotelís reply below regarding this inquiry.

ďYes, the $100 food and beverage credit will cover all our Venues. I also want to advise, starting August 20th our Venues will require proof of vaccination card if the guests would like to dine in. This applies to all restaurant, bars, and gym within the hotel and outside establishments as well. Our in room dining is also available but for breakfast only if the guest wishes to dine in their guest room in which will not require the vaccination card.Ē

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

One night stay update

Completed a weekend one night stay using Amex FHR. Overall, nice and clean hotel but terrible breakfast experience.

1. Parked at the Hearst Parking Garage next to the hotel, $15 for 24 hours using SpotHero to make reservation.
2. Given a choice of high floor basic king one or one category upgrade on low floor, picked the high floor with no room upgrade.
3. Dined at Pied Piper for dinner to use the $100 dining credit. Ambience and service is great, but the food is really meh.
4. Did not use the gym and pool, need to make reservation at front desk.
5. Breakfast credit for FHR is $60 for two person. Make reservation for breakfast at Garden Court, otherwise prepare to wait for a while during weekend. However, we had a terrible experience due to the negligence of our waiter even we had a reservation. The table around us seated 10-15mins after us got their order placed before us, I had to yell at the floor manager to get our server come take order after multiple failed attempt to get a hold of someone. When our food came, the tables seated after us were half done. In short, our food wasnít served about 50 mins after we are seated. This really put a stain in our stay. Otherwise, the food was ok and much better than Pied Piper food.

Hi Christina,

Do you know if the breakfast buffet is back at Garden Court? Also do you happen to have the email to the concierge for the hotel? Tried to do a google search to no avail.

Thank you!

Having a great 2 night stay. Long time patron , but itís been a while. Upgraded to nice suite, buffet breakfast back.

Didnt realize breakfast credit was on $20. I guess that covers continental from grab and go? In the garden court itís $32 for continental, $39 for full buffet, which is notably shy of prepandemic opulence (no smoked salmon for example).

Similarly, FHR allows $60 for two, doesnít cover. Since they treated me so well on the suite (as they often go for regular stayers who are elites) , itís not worth complaining. I just wish it would be known in advance.

Any other hotels go the $ credit route?

Perhaps they think they're a Hilton?

I agree the suite upgrade is much more valuable. But without that upgrade, the skimping on the breakfast benefit becomes much less palatable.

Interesting that they cheaped out on the breakfast BUT still gave you a suite nonetheless. Perhaps the breakfast benefit is not such a reliable heuristic for hotel elite benefit delivery after allÖ

The STR SF 5 mins walking away gives a great room service breakfast to elites. There is a dedicated elite menu that is pretty comprehensive and has many great options. They also are pretty generous with elite upgrades IME. I have returned a few times now and have gotten a suite every time (but still not the Metropolitan). It is probably pricier than the Palace these days but worth the premium if still within budget IMO. Could be nice to shake things up from the Palace.

Iím guessing much pricier. Breakfast at the Palace is about the Garden Court for me.

otherwise, Iím coffee until lunch usually.
