Getting to hotel from Swiss Cottage tube stop: When you exit the turnstiles at the Swiss Cottage tube stop, go left to exit 1 (Avenue Road), up the stairs (10 steps) to street level, make a left, walk to the corner/street light, & turn left & you'll see the Marriott in front of you at the next light. It's a 5-minute walk from Swiss Cottage to the entrance of the Marriott.
Property now has M Lounge on ground floor open 24/7. Children under 16 not allowed in lounge per website.
Hors d'oeuvres (1730-1930hrs) and dessert selection (1930-2130hrs) available 7 days a week
Beverages available throughout the day with red & white wine and beer served between 1730-2130hrs

I think the Ł5 upgrade applies if you have breakfast in the main restaurant rather than in the lounge. At least this is how it works in the Maida Vale Marriott.

The Ł5 in the main restaurant is to upgrade to full English, you can still do continental downstairs as a plat without paying it.

Just a quick update on the renovations. They were delayed (whilst having the lobby closed off) but are ongoing now.
The interesting part is that they are putting Carluccios in as a restaurant (http://www.carluccios.com) which should be good, as they are usually reasonably priced for fairly good food.
That opens end of May.

I should add the extra info I've found out about the refurbishment which is that there will be a new bigger exec lounge, which is much needed as the current one is very busy.

Update on renovation at Regents Park: the entrance, lobby, restaurant, and bar are complete. Carluccio's, a well-respected London chain of Italian restaurants, operates the restaurant, bar, and room service. As one might expect, the offerings are very Italian although they did make one concession by retaining traditional English breakfast items. I have mixed feelings about this. Carluccio's is good, and I've eaten at their free-standing locations; but there's something troubling about not being able to get an English beer or fish and chips in the hotel. Well, that's a topic for Brexit and it's certainly not unique to the RP. The overnight room service menu has non-Italian items and I suspect they could be ordered at any time.
Phase II of the renovation, the meeting areas, is underway. Phase III, the rooms, begins next month. No word on when the executive lounge will relocate from the 6th floor to the ground floor.
A server at RP told me that the Kensington Marriott will get Carluccio's next.

From the hotel photos it looks like (1) the lounge is now an M lounge (presumably downstairs) and (2) the renovated ("superior"?) rooms don't appear to have desks?

Stayed here last week, and confirm the M Club is on the ground floor to the right of Carlucccios. I didn't have time to experience the evening service in the lounge, but breakfast had quite a variety of items.
No room upgrade, but I did get a very nice cupcake gift in the room. They seem to renovating floor by floor. My room was on 5 and quite dated, but acceptable. Floor 2 was under renovation and looked very impressive (at least from the lift).

Renovations to guest rooms are complete. The remaining two floors will come online by August 31, 2017.
There is a multi-purpose table that can be used as a desk. I'm typing on it now.

Avoid the Marriott in Regents Park. No upgrades, lots of construction, disorganization. Lounge is good but is in the lobby so it is easy for people to walk in behind you. One guy was even waiting at the door for someone to let him in.
