I didn't see the link to enroll on either my APP or Desktop but Amex chat was able to enroll me.

I didn't think my Legacy card was going to see any action this year but this promo is enough to get me using it again.

Found it!

It was 3rd from the bottom on my Offers list! (Can't figure out how to post a screenshot.)

Highly unlikely that I'll spend $25K, but you never know.

Thank you!

Glad you found it. Weird that mine was at a banner on top (not buried in my offers list). Good for all in this thread who are interested (and don't see the banner) to peruse full list of offers.

Oh and to post a screenshot go to "Manage Attachments" when replying and click upload from desktop.

Not seeing it either in a banner at top or in my Amex offers (website or app). Maybe still getting rolled out. If it doesn't show up in a couple of days I'll reach out to Amex (I meet the qualifications, old Amex SPG personal I have held for years).

How did you do the math?
Even 1% of 12k is $120

2% cashback cards are available for free. At $12,000 a 2% free card would return $240, and the 2.5% $59 card would return $300, which recovers the fee.

I guess you interpret "break even" differently than I do

Yes I do. It’s our main card. 95% of purchases goes on it. Thus, making it worth the $59 annual fee for me.
If you don’t hit he $12k spend and don’t need a no international fee card then the citi double cash back is excellent. My sister has that one.

Breakeven is calculated using the incremental reward (one-half percent) and the incremental cost ($59) versus another product. How else would you do a breakeven analysis when comparing products with different fees?

A break even number is $11,800 per year. See Zorak’s better math below.

Close, yes, but it's not rocket science, folks, computing the exact amount between these two alternatives is pretty simple:

x*0.025 - 59 = x*0.02
x*(0.025-0.02) = 59
x = 59 / 0.005
x = 11800

And here we thought we would never need algebra again

(Showing my work for completeness but it's not much of a leap to start directly on the third line)

I'd like to downgrade my SPG (now Amex Bonvoy) to a no annual fee card. Am I right in thinking there is no Amex Bonvoy product without an annual fee?

Can I in that case downgrade to e.g. the Amex Blue Cash? Am I right in thinking that's the card I'll least regret downgrading to (i.e. the one least likely to have an interesting signup bonus that I won't be eligible for because I downgraded to it).
