My oldest credit card (not Amex to be precise) I got 30 years ago as a student gets resent to me every time after expiration even though I have not activated it in 20 years.

They don't care what you do.

I primarily use cash back card for everything. I love my Alliant 2.5% flat cash back (3% first year). No international fees either.

Cashback for me now.

I canceled the card yesterday (business version). Not even a hint of a retention offer was presented.
I cancelled my business version yesterday and got an offer of something like 5000 points plus 10000 if I spent another $1000, 15000 total Marriott points does not get me where I want to go and so I went through with the cancellation.

So i assume you spend much more than $12k a year on your Alliant card? Because it has a $59 annual fee and you need to spend 12k just to break even.

They have been pretty clear that they won’t be sending a new card until this one expires.

I agree if you don't think you can hit the $25k tier, then this offer isn't for you. But for me 10 months is easily enough to place $25k on this card so at least until I hit $25k this becomes my primary card again. And it will be quite lovely (back to the 3 per $ spent, no other card compares).

The next $25k tier will be in question... as I'll have to see how much time I have left in the year in order to achieve it. I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

btw - promo is open. Log into your Amex account to enroll. I registered a few moments ago.

Is this a promo for the Luxury card? I see nothing in my Amex account (old SPG card). If yes, then this should probably be discussed in the Luxury card thread instead of this one.

It's for the legacy (Not new luxury) card. I logged into my Amex account on a desktop (not app) and the promo appeared on the top of my balances.

Thanks for clarifying. I'll keep an eye out for this. Don't see anything right now.

here is the screen I received after enrolling. I know it's not as much of a help of the pre-screen but I didn't save that
