Hi mh3265a,
We have checked and both hotels (The Westin Miyako Kyoto and The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, A Luxury Collection Hotel) do not participate in Suite Night Awards.

I just had a one night stay at the Westin Miyako and I was very impressed. First, they did honor my request for an upgrade and into a beautiful suite. The renovations have improved the look and feel of the building immensely. The only downside is how small the lounge is! Last trip, nearly 7 years ago, I was just a Gold SPG member so I did not have access then. Surprised they didn't expand the club during renovations but otherwise great stay and great staff support!

Have an enjoyable trip! I feel like the hotel is definitely fresher especially in the new rooms but looks like there is still a lot more of the hotel going under renovations although I didn't feel impacted (noise or otherwise) by the work.

The concierge has a list/map of restaurants nearby. We tried this okonomiyaki place about 5-mins walk down the street from the hotel. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was good and cheap. I think it was #9 or #17 on the map. The area where the Westin is located is quite residential, so not a lot of restaurants nearby in the first place and many are closed by 8-9pm.

The hotel is now bookable with points! I just booked 5 nights at the end of October (22 - 27). Availability is wide open from Sept to Nov 2019 except for a few days here and there. I plan to attach my 7-night certificate to it (hopefully it works) and am looking forward to it very much!

why do you not call them on the telephone. the english at that hotel is excellent. a call is not too expensive. the tokyo hotels have a lot of non-smoking rooms. enjoy tokyo. spend a few extra bucks, and take taxi everywhere. the concierge serve at that hotel is decent. not great, but decent. get a micheline guide, and have them book your eating places.

KYOTO SELLS OUT. GET A ROOM NOW!!!!
as i remember, place is sort of nowhere. we ate just down the street, as the $35 breakfast at hotel seemed a bit much for soup & seaweed. taxi is readily available, and we always used them to go everywhere in japan. we used michelin guide and concerge to go to restaurants. would love to go back again, but now too old(82). we stayed in kyoto 3x(or 4x) for two weeks each time. ate in 2**stars. we flew in and out of ITEMA). GOOD AIRPORT. just took a taxi to hotel from there.

Anyone have any update on how things are at this hotel during summer renovations? I have 2 nights booked with points in mid August. I heard the lounge is closed? Any idea if they are offering anything else?

I'm trying to book four nights on points for November and it says no availability, but I wonder if that's really the case due to renovation, maybe they are not released yet? Anyone have tried emailing the hotel and see if they could book it for you? Which email did you use?
