SPG INSTANT AWARDS

SPG Participation Policy

There are no standard rooms at this resort; therefore, Starpoint Award reservations must be booked at a higher Starpoint rate through your local customer contact center. Also, since all accommodations are either suites or villas, upgrades for Starwood Preferred Guest members do not apply.

Non-Smoking Policy

The resort is committed to providing guests and associates with an enhanced quality of air and environment by providing 100% non-smoking guest rooms, suites, and villas. Violations of this policy will incur a 250 USD penalty. Designated smoking areas are available in public areas.

Seclusion Day Information: March 9, 2016

Nyepi, known as the “Day of Silence,” marks the celebration of the Balinese New Year in the Hindu Lunar calendar. A spectacular procedure of ceremonies, parades of great bamboo monsters, and fireworks occur on the Eve of Nyepi, followed by a day of total silence and seclusion. The community strongly believes that if the island is silent and dark, the bad spirits will leave and the new year will start in peace. During Nyepi, from 6am until 6am the next day, the island stops. Nobody is allowed in the streets, use of electricity is restricted, and the international airport is closed.

In 2016, Nyepi will fall on Wednesday, March 9. Please note that check-in and checkout will not be possible on Nyepi Day, and Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) will be closed. Some of the resort facilities will operate as usual; however, there will be no transportation services to and from the resort, and televisions will not be available. Lights will be dimmed inside and there will be no outdoor lighting. Our pools and garden areas will still be accessible except for the beach. Only indoor seating will be available at Boneka Restaurant. Gourmand Deli will close at 8pm. King Cole Bar will remain closed.

We kindly invite you to respect this sacred day and observe these restrictions. Normal activity in Bali will resume at 6am on Thursday, March 10.

Just redeemed points here. because they are all suites, you cannot use a suite night. it sounds like you can get an offer to upgrade for $100-200 a night i believe.

They do not offer platinum upgrades. However, they offered to upgrade me on an award stay to a gardenia villa for $175 per night. Completely worth it.

so is the "going rate" here on points 30k per night for the base suite?

does the pay 4 get 5 that you normally get with spg apply also? so 120k for 5 nights?

Just booked a 6 night award for next May at 36,750/nt with the 5th night free. In total, it cost 183,750. My ambassador, who booked it, said its not the base room, but I still think its a "St. Regis Suite" just perhaps with a better view or something.

Anyone care to compare St Regis (32kpts/night) vs W Semiyak (8k+USD$150)? 3 nights...

Never been to Bali before. Honeymoon. 3 nights by the water and 2 in the jungle before hitting next destination.....

You definitely can use a Suite Nights upgrade certificate to upgrade. See online offer below for January 2013 points booking:

So I hate to dispute Mr Pickles, but I would caution and said it depends on the time of they year. I'm going in May and they said it was 33k points for a base room and 36k points for the pool suite with no ability to use suite nights.

Sunday Brunch

I'm guessing that Boneka’s Sunday Brunch is not included as a Platinum breakfast? Does anyone know otherwise? Thanks.

Things may have changed since I was there 1.5 years ago, but at the time, breakfast at Boneka was included for everyone. Quite the event!

I was there last week for 5 nights and used 5 suite upgrade certificates and was upgraded to a lagoon villa.

Breakfast buffet is included daily with every room. Buffet and menu items are unlimited. Extra charge for champagne, and there is no executive lounge. Butler will bring unlimited coffee, cappuccino or tea whenever requested.

No such thing as a Platinum breakfast amenity, they offer 500 points or two 30 foot massages in the spa.

what room did you book in to originally? I am currently booked in to a Pool Suite (using points, 35k/nt) and wanted to use a suite night to get in to a Villa but was told no.

Thanks!

I did something similar a number of years ago where we were in complete darkness and the wait staff were themselves blind. It is a fascinating experience. I experienced it in a center for education about blindness, not in a restaurant in a hotel of this caliber. I can imagine that the food will be delicious and this will be a really amazing experience.
