Unless some major changes are made at this property, if it stays in the Starwood family it should be rebranded as a Four Points so that guests' expectations can be better aligned with what's offered.

Glad I wasn't the only one who had a sub-par experience at this property. Stayed here in Q4 last year...
- upgraded to a "deluxe" view, which had a gorgeous view of a concrete parking lot
- lobby bar considered of 4 bar stools next to the "business center"
- breakfast was in the "restaurant" in a conference room with Element-type food
- front desk was constantly full of customers waiting (all hours of the day) and no recognition of a Gold/Platinum queue
Even if I did have a good rate, unlikely to return back to this property.

Update: I ran into a team of managers this morning at breakfast who were discussing the breakfast situation. This included the F&B manager as well as hotel side management. I spoke with them and explained my concerns about what the tacky bus boy breakfast presents as well as other general issues. They genuinely listened to the feedback and wanted to improve the situation. They have been hearing recent feedback about the breakfast and were there to try and come up with a solution, one idea being to have a separate dining area with an improved continental spread that isn’t as tacky - like improved fresh fruit and bagels. I understood their challenges, such as people just walking off with breakfast etc that aren’t SPG elites, too. They offered me the full buffet with their complements which I politely declined as I just wanted some blueberries and a bagel.
The F&B manager later asked if he could join me at my table and we spoke more about concerns and ideas. I reiterated how the front line restaurant staff have been providing a very attentive service.
So hopefully this signals that there will be some improvements coming - I don’t think this will be the full free buffet again but at least an improved offering that isn’t positioned in a tacky spot. I would like to return to this property in the future and this experience did make me feel like my concerns and loyalty were being valued.

You should have brought up also the "tacky" $32.00 Resort Fee!
If the SLS was smart they would be watching what is transpiring here at the Westin and do everything possible to grab all the Elites and wow them with customer service and upgrades

I was just just informed by a friend staying there that there is not a Casino at this hotel and the exterior paint job has been completed. ( sorry for the error- miscommunication with a friend who is staying there. The reason for the note about the paint job was the temporary removal of the Weston signage which prompted a rumour that this property was being reflagged)

Agreed with just about everyone here, the location of the Westin Las Vegas is great and as of late December, there is no casino.
When it comes to SPG Platinums, from where the Westin Las Vegas is now, there is no direction but better. Their treatment of Platinums seems to be somewhere between tacky and contemptuous.

I was here a few weeks ago. Checkin was slow and understaffed. My buddy's room (he's also SPG100) wasn't ready until later in the evening, so we stored his luggage in my room. Apart from that, no surprises. The new restaurant is much nicer than the old one. Tried to spend $5 in the little convenience shop and charge it to the room. They asked for id plus something else to verify my identity. That was a bit weird.
The usual platinum benefits. Free continental breakfast, upgrade to full buffet for $10. Room upgrade to a higher floor. Didn't ask to have the resort fee waived.

Just turned down for a Your24 request by this property. Asked to check in at Noon on Tuesday. Stunning they can't accomodate, they are clearly quite empty based on rates. Seems like not much has changed since my last stay here years ago.

Some properties go/stay in an automatic mode and deny everything when they can. Personally, I would just show up at noon and see what they can do. Promising a room will be available in advance is much tougher than finding a room available when the guest in standing in front of you.
