I just stayed at the Westin, but probably for the last time. I had a conference at the Bellagio & another casino property. A (SPG Plat) colleague stayed at the Cosmopolitan for $40 more and got a one bedroom suite facing the Bellagio fountain. I'll do that next time.

The Westin is fine. Full breakfast is free for platinums and I got a room on the 16th floor. They sent a nice fruit bowl and some mineral waters as a welcome amenity. I needed a car for a day and rented it with Enterprise downstairs for $30.

Lol, "I just stayed at the Westin, but probably for the last time".... "the Westin is fine"

It should work for me for this stay. Thanks everyone for your assistance.

Well, I like the Westin for being a no-frills SPG hotel. I particularly don't like the big casino resorts. At the Westin, you can get in and out quickly. Parking used to be free, it's a shame they are catching on to the trend of charging lots of fees. And the resort fee is silly.

I guess it depends a bit on what you're doing in Vegas. I only go for business trips.

I booked the WESTIN and was able to get my 3 night SNA reward. Went from a double room on 3rd to 5th floor to Exec Suite for under $130 plus taxes per night. Hopefully it all works out with everything there.

The best to you, but wouldn't you rather try to use your SNAs at a property a little more aspirational than The Westin Las Vegas?

I always book the cheapest room on a corporate rate. As a platinum guest, I have always gotten a (regular, not a suite) room on the top 3 floors.

Only place that currently I have booked is in Hawaii, and that is on Dec 27 to Jan 1. If SNA is not accepted there, I would have lost them (however hope to earn another 5 SNA nights by then to apply for it). Everything else for my travels was not worth SNA as I am traveling by myself. On this trip my dad is with me so extra space will be nice.

TRIP update
My stay at the Westin was decent. The upgrade was good to an Executive room with one king and one sofa bed. The buffet was actually pretty good, nice spread of fruits, an omelette station, and the usual cereals. Restaurant service was excellent. Bell service sucked. Had several issues asking for extra blankets, front desk told me they have a new service contract with a company that does bell service and they were still working out bugs.

It was a 15 min walk to Caesars where my conference was.

I would stay there again, especially if I can get a nice $125 LNF rate again.

They are charging $15.00 / Night now for parking!!?? Seriously....So now an extra $50.00 + night with taxes on top of the rate for the amenity charge and parking.

I wonder if they waive it for Plats..........yeah, what was I thinking!! Not likely.

As soon as I attain my lifetime Plat status these places will never see me again. I will be using my comps at Caesars that is for sure. Actually as soon as I attain my status for the year they will simply lose my business - I'm tired of the nickel & diming along with the decreased service and any kind of perks of being loyal. For the longest time I have paid to stay at the Westin ( yeah, I know some will ask why! ) while I had comped nights on the strip. Just because I was loyal to SPG and was a raving SPG lunatic looking for the points and racking up the nights. Good times are gone.

The parking is hit and miss. I did not get asked at the front desk if I had a car. I did not get charged for parking. In looking at the other cars in the parking garage, no one had any sort of sticker displayed.

Does anyone have an e-mail for this hotel? Specifically for reservations? I can't find it anywhere online.

Thanks!

Needing a last minute Saturday night I grabbed the Westin at $108, but with low expectations.

On reflection, this hotel has a lot going for a plat like me who gambles rarely: as there is no casino you don't get trumped by tin-level low rollers.

Super easy access, don't even have to drive on the Strip, just off the interstate at Flamingo and cross the Strip and easy in to plentiful parking. I didn't like getting dinged the $17 self parking, however, but this is becoming the rule, not exception.. And, a two minute walk to/from the car is a pleasure.

At 4 p.m. there wasn't one person ahead of me at check in, this is a backwater, but a very easy walk to the Strip.

Sunday morning there was one person ahead of me when I asked for a late check-out and was immediately given 4 p.m. without any whinging. "We appreciate your loyalty" is an actual quote.

I took breakfast over the 1,000 points and although the chit said continental the waiter said full. Breakfast was as good as it needed to be.

I can't much defend the $32 resort fee, labelled destination fee to keep our bookkeepers happy, but unlike a lot of resort fee pirates there is some added value, although I didn't partake:

Spa access
Whiskey tasting
Dessert at the lobby restaurant

And while many Vegas hotels don't have in-room coffee, the Westin does. I'll knock a few bucks off the resort fee just for that amenity.

Gym good/pool very small, but plenty of misters.

In summary, not the hotel to celebrate a 21st birthday, a wild weekend or rare trip to Las Vegas. But, boring me is moving the Westin up the Vegas hotel leader board

Well my annual CES trip got canceled this year but fear not another quick one night trip next week. Will report back for the (4th?) year in a row but sounds like they are doing OK with breakfast still and are likewise now charging for parking (no car) and still the high resort fee. Before they would claim the fee included wifi so they would reduce or credit extra points for Titanium. Any reports of that still? I’ll likely be arriving too late for “whiskey tasting” and leaving too early.

Update:

For reference, I’ve stayed here annually for at least 5 years.

The destination fee clocks in at $36+ after tax per night. They were out of the official “list” of what you get for that, but no longer provide an “alternative amenity” or reduced fee for Titaniums according to the clerk I spoke with. Parking used to be included as part of that and is also now extra. The whiskey tasting and desert are still included, but tasting only 4-6 so if you’re arriving late or working forget that.

If I was driving and on a personal trip with price being the same, I would have a hard time justifying a stay here except for the breakfast perk and the waiter I know by name. I love the ease of getting in/out via Lyft without the wait and maze of casino, but hate abusive fees like this.
