The publicly available codes on this thread are working as far as we know. Please note that not every code will work for every property worldwide.

The best thing to do, rather than just posting "I'm staying at (fill in the blank)/does anyone have a code", is to try all the codes first. As such, this thread is not for "cheaper rate" requests.
Note that It's highly unlikely that FTers will find a code that isn't already listed based on a one-off request.

If the code is available at the property, it will show that/rate. If it's isn't available, it will let you know that. Please note that if if one (or more) code is available, only you can determine if the cost savings fits with your budget. If it does, great. If not, you might want to try and see if the property has a local promotion going or if you can use LNF (Look No Further/Best Rate Guarantee) for a better rate. Also note that sometimes a publicly available code may show a higher rate than just a regular booking. Not always, but sometimes.

If you have discovered a new code, please post it in this thread and update this Wikipost. But please, this list is ONLY for publicly usable codes. No corporate or private use only codes please. Thanks!

I agree that there are probably a number of folks trying to use that rate who weren't eligible at that hotel. But I'm not sure that "Marriott" is cracking down as much as that particular hotel is cracking down.

Over the years, I have had opportunity to use a number of special rates (Gov't, Travel Industry, etc.). Some hotels have always been more "vigilant" in tracking who will use a particular rate than other hotels. But it always helps to make sure you have the proper identification for the rate you are using as even hotels that normally don't check, may have a particular or new employee who does ask to see. And unless you like surprises, you better be able to provide that documentation they need.

I use AAA rates from time to time and am always shocked when someone asks to see my AAA card (which I do have, of course). It's not hard to get. Anybody who wants one can get one, and it's not very expensive. But, as you say, new employees may think that checking serves some purpose.

Executive Status Program?

In the past, I've seen "Executive Status Prgm rate". It sometimes pops up when searching with my corporate code, instead of or in addition to company-specific rates. I typically see it at high-end hotels (i.e. I can normally find it at the Ritz in Tyson's Corner, VA). It looks very generic, makes no mention of ID cards or anything.

There's nothing special in the rate rules... does anyone know if there are there any special requirements to this rate? I have no idea what this is or if I should book it. Maybe it's for high-profile executives who need special accommodation!

Also, is it possible that there are more of these generic Executive Status Program Rates? Is there a way to search for them? I tried some obvious acronyms, no luck on my own.

All I can say is that if you ever see a rate and you aren't sure if it requires some type of membership, forms, etc., click on the rate rules when you see that rate. The rules should state what is required. If they don't mention anything "special" about memberships, IDs, forms, etc., then you are probably OK to use.

If you are still in doubt, I'd call RC reservations (or if you are a Plat call the Plat elite line) and ask them to check it for you.

Thanks!

Just check the box for AAA on the reservations form. There is no tricky code to remember.

But please, only do this if you are actually an AAA member.

Until recently, I could see regular AAA rates and prepaid AAA rates at one hotel that I am interested in booking. It just happens that prepaid AAA rate is no longer showing up... I was wondering if there is a specific code I could enter to bring up the prepaid AAA rate. (And it is not a date thing, as I've tried dates far into the future and the prepaid AAA is not appearing)

It used to show as "AAA Advance Purchase Rate, AAA card required required, see Rate Rules"

Thanks!

It is up to the property to load all the rates. You might try pulling up the property page and then look for any deals they have listed. I have seen different rate plans for AAA and maybe they forgot to check the right box so it shows up in the search process under AAA.

Welcome to FlyerTalk, Trina_n_Lola.

Please read the wiki (at the top of this post, click on "+" if it's not already expanded). It explains everything you need to know. If there is code that will help, you have to try all the codes on the list yourself. If no code works, the wiki explains other ways to get discounts (for which there are other threads).

How often are Platinum Elite rates better?

I'm a gold member with Marriott, but I always fall short of Platinum. However, a rep called me last week because a nearby hotel is in the process of renovating and will rebrand in January as a FS Marriott. Between booking rooms for my parents and occasional events at work, it will be entirely possible to hit those extra <25 nights.

The problem is that--at least from the outside as a Gold member--I see no major differences. Don't get me wrong; I understand the benefits of Platinum and PP, it's just that none seem worthy of staying extra nights just to get there.

The one thing I've wondered is how frequently Platinum Elites see special rates on hotels? I have only seen one hotel ever that offered a better rate for Gold Elite (E0G) than Silver (E0S) or simply the Member rates (M11,M12,etc.). Are Platinum Elite rates actually worth something, or are they much the same as Silver/Gold?

I'm not sure I've seen any "Platinum" only rates, though I guess it is possible some are out there.

There have been a few different threads on the actual difference between Gold/Plat and whether pursuing Plat is worth it:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marri...num-worth.html
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marri...an-hotels.html
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marri...-platinum.html
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marri...-platinum.html

My overall thoughts are that Plat is "incrementally" better due to the 48 hr room guarantee, the extra Plat Ultimate Guarantees, the arrival bonuses, etc. But I doubt I'd pay a lot of money just to achieve Plat over Gold.

So if you can make Plat by redirecting stays from some other chain, it might be worth it. But if you have "manufacture" more hotel stays using out of pocket money. I wouldn't do it.

If a particular hotel requires you to show identification to verify that you are eligible to use a certain corporate rate, will a business card suffice, or do they typically require some other form of identification?

It depends on the hotel and the corp rate in question. In the US for most corp rates, I've not really had to show identification very often. Though I used to use the travel industry rate quite a bit and that rate was much more likely to elicit an id request. Due to the varied nature of that rate, I'd usually call the hotel and work out exactly what type of id they would take. For quite a few of them, a letter on the travel company's letterhead stating I was traveling for that company would suffice. For others, they wanted an employee ID badge. It really depended on the hotel in question.

So I would suggest calling the hotel to verify what type of id they will accept for that corp rate.
