Thanks
There is a self park right across the street from the entrance. I think it was like $25/day.

Can't comment on the parking but I just got back from a 5 night stay at the W-SF. IMHO this is one of the better properties in the *W portfolio and I have never had any problems with the hotel during my stays (past and current). My only grip would be that there are no coffee makers in the rooms (which seems to be common to most W's recently). You can call down and ask for one and they also offer free coffee in the bar area in the morning. Only minor issue that I have had with the staff is the bellman. I asked how far a certain restaurant was from the hotel and if I could walk the distance or take a cab. He recommended a cab but then proceeded into the building instead of actually flagging on down for me. No biggie but I was kind of suprised. As for the rooms, I like the remodel but I felt that the matress needed to be changed out too. I usually ask for a room away from the fire station corner of the building because things can get pretty noisy and bothersome if you are a light sleeper. Food at XYZ was very good.

Thanks for all the replies on the parking situation at this hotel. We ended up not renting a car just to avoid having to park. I did not see any self parking across the street unless it was available at what I assume was a convention center. You could see people ice skating at night through the windows of this building.

This is a really nice hotel and great location. We were staying on points and received a upgrade to a corner suite without even asking.

Does this hotel have the Acura Experience? If so, is it complementary? How far will it take you?

We used the service last January. Took it to the Ferry Building.

Yes the Acura Experience is complimentary during the service hours which were 12PM - 8PM. The service radius is 3 miles.

I'm fairly certain this was a special circumstance (as the guy was even willing to drive me over into Manhattan and took me to find a liquor store before proceeding) but the W Hoboken dropped me off at the Sheraton Meadowlands (10 miles). ^

Heading there this week. Does anyone know if this hotel is going on strike after all? Or if they are on strike already?

SAN FRANCISCO -- Angry hotel workers started a two-day protest at the W Hotel in San Francisco early Wednesday morning.

Members of the Unite Here Local 2 began a rally outside the hotel at Third and Howard streets at about 6 a.m. They plan to continue the two-day informational picket until 10 p.m. Thursday, union officials said.

The workers are protesting proposed cuts to health and retirement benefits.

This could be the same outfit that gathered at the LM last time I was in town to protest it NOT being unionized.

W San Francisco was placed on Unite Here! Local 2 boycott list yesterday.

As far as Starwood Hotels in San Francisco, now there are only the St. Regis and Westin Market Street hotels (both on same street as the W Hotel), and the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf that are not on United Here! boycott list.
