Residence Inn Flagstaff, AZ [Master Thread]

Thought I'd offer a few comments about the Residence Inn in Flagstaff.

This is the third year running that I've come out here and stay at this property on my annual November hiking trip. I enjoy the property very much. The staff are friendly and accomodating, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the entire property experience relaxing. The evening hospitality hour is an especially nice experience as the food and service is good and there's always nice folks to meet and chat with.

I'd definitely reccommend the Flagstaff Residence Inn to anyone who is passing through this area.

I have stayed there 3 times and have been very happy with the property and the staff. I use this location as a base to go to the Grand Canyon. I have used points and also got a great rate as well. Great RI but it felt like home.

Had a rather weird experience at the RI Flagstaff last month. The hotel itself was fine, the two-bedroom suite was great for a family trip, but there were no Plat amenities in the room. I'd shown my Platinum card at check-in and even got the standard "we appreciate your loyalty" blah blah line, and the reservation was done through Marriott.com, so they really should've twigged on by now. :td:

At check-out time the next morning, I pointed out the missing amenities and asked for my fifty bucks. The manager comes out, pulls up my record, and tells me I'm not Platinum. I show him my Plat card, but he's not buying it: "The computer says you need 75 more nights this year, so you're definitely not Platinum!" I point out that the card says "Valid until 02/08", and I'd just gotten my Platinum benefits at a Marriott in Phoenix the night before, but still no cigar. So I ask him to call the Platinum service line, which he grudgingly does... and what a pleasure it was to hear the change in his tone of voice: "Oh, but... but... um... OK. OK. Yes. Thank you." And I got my fifty bucks cash on the spot. ^

I have an upcoming stay at this property. Anyone stayed here recently?

Residence Inn Flagstaff Arizona

I stayed at the Residence Inn Flagstaff Arizona, and my stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel is new, very modern, all in one building (unlike most other Residence Inn's I've stayed in), the rooms are large, and the location is great in the heart of downtown Flagstaff, and just over an hour away from the south rim of the Grand Canyon.

The price is right as well, and we would certainly stay here again.

This thread has information about two different hotels. The original Residence Inn (posts 1,2,3) is now Sonesta ES. The current RI Flag is downtown and has been open for about two years.

I know. I posted my post as a new thread, but the moderator merged it onto the old thread.

I stayed here for one night last week. Room was very clean and modern. I'd definitely stay here again.
The AC wouldn't turn on, it was 74F in the room and I asked the front desk to have a look at it. They also said that when the outside temperature drops below 40 (which it was), they disable the AC. Otherwise, the lines may freeze. It was very uncomfortable that evening with my room temperature varying from 73F - 75F. At some point during the night, the AC did finally turn on.
When I came back to my room that evening there was evidence that someone had come in to look at the thermostat...my room door was ajar. Fortunately, none of my belongings were missing. One really had to pull the door shut forcefully to get it to latch.
