Westin Nashville, TN [Master Thread]

Looks like at least one development group is looking at putting a Westin into downtown Nashville. And I heard rumors that a W was planned for a new condo project proposed, but that may be conflation of the Westin idea. All very preliminary and there are historic preservation issues, but it doesn't hurt to dream of not having to use the Sheratons.

Update....With the Massive new Music City Convention Center now open I have heard reports in the local paper about a possible Westin for the downtown area. I have even heard the Mayor mention he would like to see a "Westin" (yes he actually mentioned the brand name interesting) or similar type full service hotel go in to the area to help fill the need for more rooms that the MCC needs. I would love to see this happen

I just stayed at the Aloft and it was fine except for the $24 parking fee.

I hope this comes to pass. The Starwood options in Nashville are pretty dismal IMO.

Nashville sure has changed since I lived there...it is always fun going back every few months to see what else has changed downtown. I can't wait to see this property eventually open!

Downtown currently has 6 (or is it 7?) buildings that actually under construction and the shortest of these is 27 stories and that is just the big projects. There are many other that are smaller mid size projects going up too. The changes downtown are amazing! If you have not been to Nashville in ten years you won't recognize it.

Nice story today in the Nashville paper with some more details about the roof top bar and spa. and if I knew how to post pictures I would provide some of the buildings progress. The Westin is starting to really take shape. I might have to do a staycation stay when it first opens. This is going to look good in the Nashville skyline.

I have driven past it several times recently and its really taking shape. If I only knew how to post a pictures I would. It will be a convenient location for people going to the convention center, the arena, or to any one of the music events downtown.

That's good downtown really needs a lot more hotel rooms.
