I had a 2 day and a 3 day stays in the past 2 weeks. One was on the Flyertalk special deal (and the extra points already posted), with the other on the Z3R deal.

Overall, this hotel has been great. The location is very convenient to the ploen chit skytrain (maybe 100-200 meters, with the short cut having you to make a right when leaving the hotel, then a left through a passage way before you reach the Athenee Residences and then that passage way leads you to Sukhumvit under the Ploen Chit station).

Some of my observations:

-The service overall was very good, expecially in the lounge.
-At Check in you receive a card that allows you to take your drinks in the downstairs bars - similar to what is allowed at Bar Su at the SGS and at the new Le Meridien.
-The lounge continues to have nice snacks and hot hors d'oveours as well a large selection of alcohol in the evening, but some may prefer the made to order drinks downstairs
-I received a large suite upgrade for the first stay and a nothing special "club" room the second stay.
-The hotel appears packed for both stays and going forward a week as well. No award stays available and the rates have appeared to be higher than most other SPG hotels in Bangkok, which is not the usual state. There have been 2 weddings that I have seen and many conferences are going on as well.
-There was a print out of the platinum extras, which is helpful (and I forgot about the 2 free laundry items. They did include the extended check out time as 2 pm (and not 4 pm). The first stay I needed 4 pm and when requested, it was given without pause.

For those of you in Bangkok this coming Thursday - we're having a Thanksgiving Buffet this upcoming Thursday.

We also have our Cocktails + Cones event taking place this Wednesday - great opportunity to meet fellow Bangkok visitors and residents, as well as some of the Hotel Management Associates (with some proceeds going to a good cause!).

Looking forward to seeing you then!

Things are getting busier for us - even with higher rates.

We've been receiving a number of PMs regarding Suite upgrades - we will always do our best to accommodate the ugprades for our SPG Platinum Guests.

Best regards,

Quite happy to see the Triple starpoints from this property. Does anyone know the T&C of the promotion?

It was nice of the managers (names left out for privacy) to visit our table while we were having cocktails in the lounge last weekend. Such a great hotel, complimented with a team that cares about the customer.

We also hope that competitive rates stay available to the FT membership, even with rising occupancy rates. Perhaps a percentage off of the best available, similar to corporate codes?

In any event, we appreciate the commitment. We hope your success continues.

Not only the management recognice and treat people very good !
Nearly everyone already greets us by name when jumping out of the taxi , checking in and also in the buffet restaurant them already know what we drink in the morning and which fruits we like to eat.
Our 1st choice when staying in BKK ( this year already +15 stays there, and the last 2 with our newborn son 3 weeks old, upgradet to a nice quiet cornerroom.
Will make 2 or 3 more stays in Dec. and then be platinum with the actual promo.

15 Stays and not a single post on http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thail...er-thread.html or http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starw...-2008-9-a.html ?

Congrats on the newborn!

In response to some feedback, we are posting some of our New Years and Christmas offers in a more timely fashion - a summary is found here.

The offers are primarily for our food and beverage outlets - no additional special offers are planned for the Christmas or New Years period at present.

Best regards,

Instant Room Upgrade Award

Thinking of booking a 5 night "cash and points" stay here in July. Is it possible to request (and get confirmed) an Instant Room Upgrade Award to a Le Royal Club Deluxe Room for 1500 SPG pts per night before our arrival?

Smile The definition of "Starwood Privilege members

[QUOTE=Plaza Athenee, BKK (Starwood);12916533]In response to some feedback, we are posting some of our New Years and Christmas offers in a more timely fashion - a summary is found here.

To clarify, what is the definition of "Starwood Privilege members" to which you offer 30% discount? Is this a separate program from "Starwood Preferred Guest"? If so, how does one join it?

Thanks!

Many FTers are members of this annual program. Membership fee is 7900 THB net per year which is about US$240. Different markets get different benefits under this program. For further information, see the following:
