Hmmm, might be staying here in a few weeks for business. Seems to be the lowest rates on Egencia and the only one within policy for my company :P First time at this hotel, and first time in LAX and surrounding area since I was 7...

Any tips and suggestions from regulars? Unfortunately, I'm not a gold/plat...

Just finished my eighth stay here. I've noticed that I have left with a sinus infection after each stay. Any chance of cleaning the HVAC system?

I'm having trouble understanding the last seven infections. Why would you return?

Valid question. The majority of my stays here have been winter stays, so I had chaulked it up to someone on the airplane sneezing or hacking all over me. It happens. However, it's summer now, and I never get sinus infections in the summer... that was until I returned here.

First I've ever heard of this. I can attest that sinus infections are no fun and why would you go back somewhere that causes them? Let's get to the bottom of it. We have a rigorous PM program for our HVAC. That said, can you PM me? Let's see if there is a pattern to your room assignments that would allow me to check specifically.

Best!

Was also surprised when I came back to my room and found someone trying to deliver me fresh cookies. I'm on low carb, so I turned them down, but it was a very nice gesture.
Curious if you are a fan of sour beers. Wondering whether we should put together a "sour beer cellar". Thoughts anyone?

Cheers!

Hi Phil,

Thanks for responding and being a part of the FT community. It is rare to see a property manager actively engage us heathens. As stated above, I didn't connect your property w/ my sinus infections until I noticed it occured again during this most recent visit. I've chaulked up past incidents to air travel since I've largely stayed at your property during the Fall/Winter months when everyone is sick w/ some disease. In general, I stay at your property because it is easier to get in/out of during my visits and because it is not located on top of the TSA's K9 unit like Westin LAX.

Anyway, PMing you the rest.

Cheers.

Don't forget to ask if he and his folks know about Friends of Four Points.

Good call.

Phil, do you know that none of your front desk staff knew about the "Friends of Four Points" tokens on my arrival? The same staff did, however, know about "Friends of Phil," which I guess was not a SPG sanctioned programme.

I was thinking a PM would be the best way to go, but you might also point out that you did not arrive on a qualifying day.

If I had PM'd him, then you deny other FTers the opportunity to guffaw at my expense for missing yet another minor detail of yet another SPG promo. Besides, a clean HVAC trumps 2-for-1s at Brewster's.

Thanks again for the comments. It certainly helps us double check items that are routine. The HVAC filters in our West and Center Towers are replaced quarterly. The last replacement was in July. The East Tower is all PTACs and might be a good alternative as these rooms are quite nice.

Cheers!

I stayed in this property just to support Phil. the people were great, the rooms were good, and the bar was exceptional on the beer selection. I did get the drink chit but didn't use it. thanks for being here, Phil.

Just finishing a five night stay at the hotel. overall extremely impressed. very nice platinum treatment - great upgrade to a corner jr suite on the 7th floor, with a plate of cookies waiting in the room. And best of all, they really run the platinum checkin line well, which is so much appriciated when i arrived at 1AM with a bus on 10 other people. from front door to room in 3 minutes.

overall, highly recommended for two reasons:

1) Phil is a great GM who is engaging on the board, honest, and responsive to FTers. This sort of thing definately deserves to be rewarded.

2) more importantly, phil runs a very nice hotel! Clean, efficient, friendly, and comfortable. i'm not usually a four points guy, but will definately be back next time in the LAX area.
