Booking
Nights available on points:
- Open up 12 months out
- Availability seems to open up five weeks out.
Fees when booking on points:
- City Tax of 400 XPF for each night
Transportation
PPT-BOB Flights:
- Round trip $350-600 per person
- Premium ticket includes more checked baggage allowance, priority boarding (sit on the left side for island views), and drink on board.
- Air Tahiti is strict with their baggage allowance. Excess baggage is $1.5 per pound over the limit.
- The airline is known to weigh hand luggage if it has wheels or is larger than your typical backpack or purse.
- If you hand luggage is weighed and is over the limit it will need to be checked or items will need to be removed and relocated to your checked luggage.
- Carry-on items do not seemed to be tagged so the gate agents do not know what bags have been checked
- If you hand luggage is weighed and is over the limit it will need to be checked or items will need to be removed and relocated to your checked luggage.
- Checked bags are weighed at the BOB airport for your PPT return flight
- They seem to not be as strict with charging for excess weight
- Lap infants are charged 10%
- Check the minimum connection time. If you arrive early Air Tahiti is likely to move you to an early flight based upon availability free of charge.
- In March 2022 the domestic security was asking that passengers remove and leave any large bottles of liquid from their hand luggage. Sealed duty free alcohol seems to be the exception.
- Tip: Sometimes it is cheaper to pack alcohol and pay the $1.5 per pound excess luggage fee than to purchase duty free at LAX.
Boat Transfer as of April 2022:
- 14,000 XPF per person roundtrip
- Children are free (not sure if there is an age cutoff)
It would be rather difficult to take the free boat from the BOB airport to Vaitape and then take the complimentary shuttle to St Regis. You would need to carry your luggage and time your flights accordingly. This would also need to be coordinated with the property.
Rooms
Renovated Rooms:
101 - Deluxe Over Water Villa w/ view may be renovated
504 - Reefside
Royal Estate (currently under renovations)
Platinum Benefits (2022)

Employees of the resort. Take it with a grain of salt because last shutdown St. Regis ended opening almost a month earlier then their announced re-opening. Although June/July are considered lower season so it may be more of a business decision if it is true.

It's the most sensible thing that they can do to minimize operating losses in a volatile environment these days.

As fond as I am of the StR, I am looking forward to the Le Meridien reopening when this madness ends hopefully.

Presumed there was a chance it never re-opens as IHG Moorea failed

Curious if anyone knows if they have started the refurbishment of LeMeridien? When Covid first hit they announced those plans. I sort of thought that was an excuse to close the place since Marriott has two resorts on BB.

stregisboraboraThe borders of French Polynesia have been temporarily closed to tourists as of today following a French government mandate in response to the resurgence of Covid-19 throughout the world.
The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort must close its doors as a result. We look forward to welcoming you back to our beautiful island from April 1st, 2021. Please don’t hesitate to DM us for assistance with a reservation.
We will stay busy tending our beaches, gardens and lagoonarium while we wait for you, keep following for regular updates!

The renovations on Le Meridien have been ongoing since late last August but based on my observations have mostly been limited pylon restoration of the overwater bungalows haven't seen much progress on much else.

This is consistent with what is now being told to staff today. On Monday afternoon and Tuesday, they were told new reservations would not be accepted for stays prior to August 1st and today that reopening time frame has been walked back to April 1st so that’s much better news and is consistent with most of the major hotels. Now Conrad, Four Seasons, Thalasso, Le Moana, Pearl, Maitai are also all looking at April 1st or sooner.

This is also consistent with what I saw during my time in Bora Bora.

“It is expected that this entry restriction will remain in place for February, perhaps March. Authorities in Tahiti have indicated this restriction on leisure travel should be a three-month maximum. It may be shorter.” - High Commissioner of France
They really have no clue how long this thing is going to last. I predict longer than 3 months. It may be longer.

Hi there,
me and my wife plan to travel to French Polynesia in September this year (we had to postpone our honeymoon from last year to this year - so, I hope we'll be able to finally go this year ) We will spend the first 10 days on a catamaran cruise and would then like to spend another 6 nights at the St. Regis Bora Bora. I currently booked a Reefside Garden Villa on points.
As we definitely would like to stay in an overwater villa, I requested the rates for a cash-upgrade. The differences between the "Overwater Superior Villa" and "Overwater Deluxe Island view Villa" is quite significant (175 USD / night vs. 580 USD / night). As I understand the only difference between Superior Villa and Deluxe Villa is the location, I tend to go for the Superior Villa only and hope for further upgrades at check-in (Titanium status) - and rather spend the additional 2.400 USD for F&B instead
Does this make sense? Or is there any reason to still go for the Deluxe Villa?

I'd reach out to the Resort Rooms Director and see what they're willing to do.
