All I got was an upgrade to a 2-bed, 2 bath suite, when I had booked a 1-bed, sofa bed and 1 bath suite. Was happy with that.

I stayed at this property about 4 weeks ago and as a Platinum member I got nothing in the way of upgrades even though requested. Initially I was given a Handicap Accessible room which I prefer to not take when others may actually need them. I went back to the front desk and got assigned a different room. I am aware this is not a hotel but I would say that the state of my room was like that at a Residents Inn just smaller and not as nice. The furniture was past the time it should have been replaced and actually for the small space there was to much furniture. Trying to setup a area to work required moving things around so that the outlets could be reached from the table. I do not like staying in Casino properties and usually stay at other Marriott properties in LV. This property is not for me moving forward.

I disagree with the prior poster. I'm here now, checking out in a few minutes. The location is excellent, right next to the Miracle Mile shops so it only requires walking across the street to get out of the heat and walk onto the strip. The rooms are nicely sized and priced right with NO resort fees. I took the smallest room and it is fine (prob 450 sq ft or so). For $15 more a night I could've had a larger villa type room. It has a mini-fridge, sink and laundry in the hallways outside the room. It's not brand new as prior poster states but is surely fine and has a couch and small dining table as well. Also has DirecTv. Unfortunately there are NO platinum benefits on offer here. All you get is 500 points as your amenity. That's it. No upgrades, no breakfast, no late checkouts, etc. Still - for the price it is reasonable. I'll be back for sure. Personally I like it better than the Westin.

Also one tip - do NOT use their concierge to book shows. They are overpriced. Either walk the strip to one of the half price ticket booths or go online to halfpriceshows.com and save yourself a bundle. I couldn't believe they tried to sell me a comedy show for $57 when i was able to buy the same show at the booths for $40 and online for $30. When I confronted her she just stared at her screen and said that's the best price we show. Uh vey.

I stayed there with the family a couple of months ago. I used points for a 2-bedroom suite. I was definitely happy with the room and the decor. I've stayed at a lot of RIs over the years (been a LTP for quite a long time now) and also agree that this property is a big step up from virtually any RI I've stayed at. My daughter loved the huge shower in the master bedroom as it had two separate shower-heads. And the view was great as we had a very nice view of the strip.

I will say I debated on staying there or across the street at the Cosmo. I'm very glad we chose the Grand Chateau. No parking fees or resort fees. ^ And even using points for a 2-bedroom suite, it required less points than the Cosmo would have and we wouldn't have had anywhere near the same amount of space.

I just checked into this property and will be there for multiple nights. Just a few comments:

1. Valet is the only option. Based on this thread it's free but I forgot to ask at check-in so I'll see if they add anything to the bill. To reclaim your car you scan your valet receipt at a computer near the door and I'm told I will only have to wait 5 minutes.
2. I'm booked in a 1-room villa which is honestly nice enough. It's an updated suite at a regular Marriott property IMO.
3. There is a washer/dryer in the room which is awesome. They even left soap for the washer. Unfortunately no dryer sheets but I will call down to the front desk and ask if they provide them. If not I'm sure the sundries shop sells them in single packets.
4. My Titanium status was recognized late in the check in process and I was told I would get 1,000 bonus points.
5. There is no bath/shower gel in the shower which really bugs me. How does a Marriott not provide this? I'll ask the front desk if they offer this and maybe housekeeping just forgot to include it.

The vacationclub properties normally provide a couple packs of laundry detergent for the washer, but dryer sheets are for purchase in the shop. Standard bathroom items are shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap for the sink and bath. They don't provide body wash/gel unfortunately, just bar soap.

The Grand Chateau also provides dish detergent soap and powder (for the dish machine) if you are so inclined.

And yes, valet is free but there is still a tip to consider.

Anyone stayed here since the Pandemic began? I will be here next month and would like to know what's the latest status? Any scope for upgrades?
I booked a 1 Bedroom Villa and hoping to get a 2 Bedroom Villa upgrade.

Given this is a Vacation Club property (i.e. timeshare) and not a hotel, upgrades are not the norm. I wouldn't get my hopes up too much on an upgrade. If somehow there was an upgrade possible, they would be more likely to give it to an owner rather than someone renting. But it can't hurt to ask when you are checking in. Given the current pandemic, if a lot of owners are turning their weeks in to Marriott for points and Marriott isn't able to rent them out for $$$ or awards, it could happen.

I have stayed here several times and always gotten stay credit. I have never gotten an upgrade so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I'm pretty sure earlier in this thread I posted about the incredibly bizarre time the guests in the unit next to me asked me to leave my connecting door open when I left so they could expand into my unit for free LOL (I passed on that idea!)
