agreed on cab-ing it to TSA but it more like NTD 200-220 (but we are talking less than USD 7).

Yes,I agree and wouldn't MRT the one stop if with luggage. But it is only 5 minutes to walk.
Similarly getting to Songshan, even though it's only one transfer, is probably easiest by cab if with any significant luggage. If it's just hand carry, piece of cake.

1) Songshan Airport or Songshan area? Songshan Airport may be able to reach by MTR, but keep in mind that Brown-line is small trains, always full, and they do NOT allowed big luggage anymore.
2) Unlike what others have told you here I would not want to walk from Main Station to Hotel if you have any thing more than a carry-on. Just hop on a taxi and pay the $70 NTD (of course the driver might not appreciate it).

If you are used to W please do yourself the favor and not stay at this old and uninspiring hotel. But if you do, here are the answers to your question.

Only SPG gold but have AMEX spg Business card which include lounge access.
Do I need to email them first to see if I will get lounge access?
Do I have to pay with the AMEX SPG Business card to get in?
Would point stay eligible, or P+C?
Sorry this is a general question to all SPG hotels but I'm going to Taiwan.
I searched but didn't find the answer in the AMEX thread.
Thank you!

No.
No, but using the SPG Business AMEX is strongly encouraged.
Yes to both.

One more question I had forgot, how many people can get in the lounge? We are 2 adult(one primary card holder and one employee card holder) and one child (12 years old).
Thanks again!

Sheraton Club lounge access is limited to the eligible Card Member and a guest staying in the same room for the duration of the stay, regardless of how many rooms have been reserved.

Looking at Booking Sheraton Grand Taipei for a few nights over New Year and rates sadly for me are insane!
Anyone have any recent heads up what their policy is for Golds for access to lounge.
Never/Often/For a fee etc?
Thanks! Need to book in next day or so.

You can checkout the Instant Awards for access to the Club Lounge, though it sure looks expensive in terms of points.

The lounge is very nice - but in Taipei, there are countless food options outside that are worth exploring. Unless you need the lounge space for another purpose, I would just eat outside for a fraction of the cost.

Booked 4 nights at a TERRIFYING price over New Year's Eve.
All they had when I got around to pulling the trigger was Executive Floor rooms, so that at least is taken care of.
Memo to self - avoid booking ANYTHING in Taipei ever again over NYE. Even flophouses are a few $100 a night.

All that said, Taxi is cheap there and the Metro can get crowded - especially at some transfer stations during rush hour.
