Last 2 months, I was able to redeem the Sheraton Club Studio, Club lounge access room for 4000 more mile. But last few days, I'm not seeing any of them available in point, only Premier Deluxe available, event 8-9 months ahead. Anyone know if they stop offer that kind of room or it's just temporary? Thanks

Had a wonderful stay, not my first, but this was really memorable.
Service way beyond what I expected even before I arrived as I emailed some concerns before my stay. When I arrived they even went above and beyond what they had already provided due to some noise/renovation issues I was concerned about. Some of this may be due to status (titanium), but in my experience when management treats status customers well they pay attention to all customers needs.

Club lounge and breakfast - chose breakfast in restaurant ( although lounge breakfast is amongst the best I've ever seen with some made to order items) - really extensive options including Vietnamese, chinese, western, lots of fresh fruit, even ice cream, lots of pastries, etc. One of the best I've seen- even amongst the wonderful other Asian hotels.
Lounge cocktail hour was amazing. Always 3 (?or more) made to order items each night as well as multiple hot choices, many canapes, desserts, fruit..... Wine was the usual almost drinkable quality found in most lounges and they had mixed drinks (not sure if just the special one each night or they did many).
Pool - almost warm enough for me to swim, but still pretty chilly (problem for all the hotels with high rise buildings blocking the sun), but better than the Le Meridien which has no sun exposure since it's under an overhang.

I didn't think I would find a hotel that met (or exceeded) the service levels at Sheraton Grande Bangkok but this one did! Simply amazing.

Downside - none of which is the hotels fault- smack in the middle of a tourist "ghetto" with shops sporting high tourist prices although some might find some of the many places that cater to tourists appealing. There were fewer touts on the street within 2 blocks of the hotel than my last visit, but still sort of annoying (again nothing against the hotel)

I also had this problem when I started staying at this property and I did complain... although I am sad to report that Scott is indeed right. I checked this at the time with the SPG Platinum line.
They do not have many properties with "Towers" but this is the way upgrades are processed in this case: within the Tower where you made your original booking.
Things might have changed with Marriott though... worth checking.

Also, be informed that recently we welcomed numerous Platinum members so that we may have ran out of room vacancy for upgrade during your recent visit.

Please accept our sincere apologies if our associates were not able to explain this clearly or acted less then professional.

Quite interesting about this Tower room in Sheratons.

IIRC, SPG T&C did exclude Tower accomodation from upgrade pool for PLT, however, the new Bonvoy T&C never mention anything about excluding Tower accomodation.

Platinum Elite Members and above receive a complimentary upgrade to the best available room subject to availability for the entire length of stay at the time of check-in. The one that explicitly listed as excluded is RC Club Access rooms/Suites and no mention about these Tower accomodation anymore

Hope lurker or anyone could clarify if the Tower accomodations at Sheratons is still excluded.

Bad hotel and bad customer services

Reservation 92599083. My husband book 7 nights stay here for his business. The last 2 nights I flight from Vancouver and want to joy him for the trip. They ask for the marriage certificate and don’t let me check in, who the hell bring the marriage certificate when traveling. They event ask the security guy to kick me out, my husband try to talk to the GM but they don’t let us to. At the end we have to check out 2 nights earlier and book 2 more nights at the Le Meridien Saigon. We stay at Le meridien saigon and Riverside Saigon under Marriott for over 20 time but never get cheat like .... like that. Never going back, really bad hotel.

This seems like than issue that should be directed to Marriott Bonvoy, rather than the GM of the hotel.

Dear ladymama,

We are sorry that you had an unpleasant experience during your visit to our hotel and also thank you for bringing this to our attention again.

As discussed via email, please be kindly clarified that under Vietnamese Regulations, for a Vietnamese Citizen to share a Hotel room with a non-Vietnamese Citizen, then marriage certificates are required. I am disappointed that I was unavailable last night to speak directly with you and your husband.

When your travel plans bring you back to Ho Chi Minh City, we hope that you will once again return to the Sheraton Saigon Hotel and Towers as this will enable us to show you that this isolated incident is not indicative of the usually high level of service we offer.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the warmth and hospitality of the Sheraton Saigon Hotel and Towers in the not too distant future.

With warm regards,
Scott Hodgetts

Hi Scott,

Could you provide the relevant Vietnamese law where this is the case?
Why is this policy not disclosed anywhere when making a booking at the hotel?
