Which 3 credit cards? I had thought the max was the two US cards, personal and business. Makes me jealous from Canada.

Chase, AMEX Biz (US), AMEX Japan

Pretty impressive to get all of your paid stays in the double night window

FlyingBeanCounter Dec 11, 2025 8:20 am

I will be around 18k I think and 134 nights

98 paid.
6 award nights
30 credit card.

Ambassador this year was a big nothing burger. Honestly I did not notice the difference.

So far I'm at 76 nights, and a little less than $9k of spend. 30 from credit cards, and the rest from paid rooms via cash or points.

I'm also on track to hit lifetime Platinum next year, so will let the Mrs acquire lifetime nights going forward.

Not bad for a family that has a baby, huh? (Well and she gets her own upgrades as an Alaska elite.)

I am fortunate in that the Marriott campaign period lines up nicely with my vacation schedule in Japan.

MSPeconomist Dec 11, 2025 3:53 pm

Maybe $300 with no Marriott credit cards. I'm lifetime titanium, fallen Ambassador.

cfischer Dec 11, 2025 5:01 pm

8 nights. 2 paid ($300 total) and 6 award

AJNEDC Dec 11, 2025 7:01 pm

56 nights
5 via Awards
51 paid for by my company
$0.00 personal spend

For the Japanese Amex, I'm assuming that's the Bonvoy Premium? Now you've got me curious about picking that up myself, especially with the 75k point free night certificate.

I currently get 30 nights a year off of my US Amex personal + biz, but 45 and needing only 5 more a year just for platinum sounds very enticing.

trentusjuventus Dec 12, 2025 2:10 am

97 nights total
13k spend
11 promo
11 redeemed
50+ nights (not including promo) in the same property (a TownePlace suites) and paid for by work

omk298 Dec 12, 2025 6:48 am

I'm at 78 nights for the year, which is where I will stay.
26 paid nights
9 redeemed
13 promotional (5 EQN for 50 night ACB, the rest from the spring promo)
15 credit card
15 debit card (the new Currensea card in the UK)
$8693 total spend (plus the card fees).

Now I can get 30 nights/year through cards I will get Titanium fairly effortlessly most years, but I'm unlikely to ever get close to Ambassador - I've made 100 nights once, but don't think I've made it much over $10K spent, if that.

130 nights
15 from UK Amex
17 from double night promotion
$18000 spend
60 nights in Executive Apartments. If I deduct 32 nights from 130 I get 98 nights, but my actual nights will be 138 as I only get a night credit per 3 nights in the apartments. I have another 10 in the apartments over Christmas, then 20 in New Year. My actual nights this year will be 148. I paid advance purchase for my forthcoming stay, so will have spent about $19000 this year.

I am Lifetime Titanium. Should hit 2000 nights in New Year. Not bad as a leisure only stayer. Don’t have a massive budget but there are huge savings on heating etc. My husband is disabled and struggles to keep warm. We use a lot of water, too.

BMarkus Dec 12, 2025 8:38 am

I have 50 nights
33 paid
6 rewards
11 promotional nights
6k spend

At least qualified for Platinum.

In my country aren't any credit card associated with Marriott. There is Amex but I'm not willing to pay $1000 just for an Amex Platinum with almost nothing you get.
