Website Not Disclosing Destination Fee
 

I just tried booking the Ritz-Carlton SF for this coming Friday and with the with the "show with taxes and fees" box checked the website shows 94,000 points. When it click through it shows the same thing but then when I click through to book suddenly it shows $47 in fees and taxes (the latter being taxes on the destination fee).

Perhaps I misunderstand but didn't Marriott agree to show fees up front and isn't that what checking the "show with taxes and fees" supposed to do?

That’s been described multiple times here (I certainly have).

It’s an issue where the destination fee only shows when you search by cash not points bookings. In fact, if you search for points and click to book, you never get to see what’s included in the fee.

You definitely have a leg to complain. I support you if you want to take it to the attorney generals.
