The Red Sea EDITION [Master Thread]
 

Creating a dedicated thread for the upcoming Red Sea EDITION, ostensibly opening later this year at the Red Sea's Shura Island hub in Saudi Arabia. The property is listed on Marriott's directories, with a website coming up at the attached link.

Curious - how are these Red Sea properties expecting guests to get there? I guess car rentals?

Edit: Never mind, I see that there is a RSI airport.

Red Sea Global, the master developer behind this megaproject, has been celebrating the forthcoming opening of the first of Shura Island's hotels "this September", with plans to launch InterContinental The Red Sea, SLS The Red Sea, and this property. Strangely, the SLS isn't taking bookings yet, the InterContinental is accepting reservations from November 1st, and the EDITION is accepting them from October 12th.

Not sure where the "September" thing is coming from from their end, but at least we're getting close. Rates begin at 704 USD or 102000 points a night on opening night.

The Nujuma hotel was so amazing that I'm not sure I'd check this one out unless considerably cheaper.

Interesting pricing.
The neighboring properties, St Regis Red Sea, Nujuma, and Shebara priced way above EDITION.

EDITION seems like a bigger hotel than those properties. Those ones are a bit more exclusive on their own islands and have a smaller room count.

I suppose having land connection with no Maldives style overwater villas is the main difference.

The property looks lovely but is very impractical to get to (I note on the website it refers to a Red Sea International Airport).

Singapore_Air It's definitely still a remote destination, but Qatar Airways is adding a tri-weekly route to RSI on October 21st. Red Sea Global has announced that more airlines will fly to RSI and existing ones will add frequencies once more resorts and destinations open, so connectivity should get better before long.
