Courtyard Yerevan, Armenia [Master Thread]

Note that I was told at check-in that Elites DO get free breakfast here as “the property doesn’t have a lounge.” I’m at breakfast now - omelets and barista coffees included - oh, wow. They must have forgotten their brand.

Why? A Courtyard outside the US/Canada that either has a lounge that's closed or has no lounge owes you breakfast.

My understanding is that the Courtyards only have to give breakfast when there is a lounge and it's closed - I have never gotten free breakfast at a European Courtyard, for example (though, admittedly, my sample size is small - Hamburg Airport, Vilnius).

The CY in Gdynia always lets me choose free breakfast as a Welcome Amenity (applies to Plat or higher) and their breakfast is decent (you can get Eggs Benedict also).
Never got this offered in CY WAW though.

CY WAW Airport gave me free breakfast on top of welcome gift points - my flight was so early that I did not use it, though.

Here is my review of my 1.5-night stay at the Courtyard Yerevan:

Note: I initially booked a one-night stay but was scheduled to arrive very early that morning at 1 AM. I was not confident in my flight arrival time (though, it held up) and did not pre-book the night before as I was concerned that my reservation might be cancelled by a night auditor. When I arrived, I asked if I could check in early and pay for an additional night. As it was too late to book online for the night, the hotel offered a slightly higher rate than my booked night but said they would extend my suite upgrade that they had planned to give me to both nights. I accepted as frankly I didn’t fancy trying to find other accommodations at 1 AM after a 24 hour flight journey. Upon checkout, I received two folios - one with a zero night stay and one with one night - the totals added up to what I paid at check-in, and I hope to earn the right number of points and spend even if I only get 1 EQN.

Pros:
  • Upgraded to a One Bedroom Suite on the highest floor with “the best view” - this was a full suite with 1.5 bathrooms
  • Comfortable furniture throughout, including the living room couch
  • Bed was generally comfortable - medium firm mattress but felt foamy and would shape to body, covers weren’t super thick but were fine for climate control paradigm, pillows were generally comfortable (though, a couple were slightly lumpy)
  • Shower pressure was good with lots of water flow
  • View towards tower was nice
  • Very large and extensive welcome gift delivered on my original arrival date
  • Breakfast is offered for Elites for free - omelets were pretty good as were barista coffees (though, don’t get the herbs in the omelet)
  • Had to ask - but requested 2 PM checkout was granted

Cons:
  • No in-room desk

I would come back.
