Four Points by Sheraton Boracay, Philippines [Master Thread]

The Four Points by Sheraton Boracay opened in December 2023.

This is the hotel's website:

https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotel...acay/overview/

According to its website, the hotel is located in Boracay Island's upscale Station 1 area, "mere steps away from White Beach." It is 8.1 km. (including a ferry boat ride) from the Caticlan "Boracay" airport (MPH) near the northern tip of Panay Island.

It is further away from Kalibo airport (KLO) on Panay, which is 68 km. from the port of Caticlan.

The Four Points Boracay was previously the Citic Hotel Boracay.

Although i live in Cebu, it would be nice to get a review from you of this property as well as the new FP in El Nido, Palawan since you travel quite a bit to PH.

I don't travel local but if the reviews of the FP in Boracay and in Palawan are great, I'd make an exemption and try these local properties.

I'm hoping someone else will do the honors, as my wife has already been to Boracay (not the Four Points). As for the Four Points on Palawan, she is still a bit nervous about the NPA, :o having personal experiences in Mindanao.

Is that still happening? I've never been to Palawan but I thought it's the go to place now for foreigners.

She is worried about kidnappings, but her views are colored by her personal experiences. E.g., distant uncle sleeping in a sunken area in the floor, and surviving a hand grenade tossed in a window; being recruited by NPA members on horseback.

I think it is safe for most people.

Stayed here recently.

As a platinum member, we were given free breakfast. Room upgrade was not available since they are still renovating or fixing the suites.
My fellow traveler, a gold member, were given 10% off on all F&B.

The hotel is in fact a couple minutes walk from the beach. Although it is at the far end of the white sands. The walk is a bit steep so mobility challenged guest might find it hard to go up/down. You can rent an etrike for P50 to get you to the beach.

They have a shuttle service going to D'Mall every few hours. You just have to make a reservation at the front desk. Otherwise, just get an etrike as well.

The hotel is walking distance to a small mall with groceries, drugstore and several restaurants.

I recently stayed in Boracay at the Four Points (and then the Shangri La on the second night so quite the contrast). I will say that the staff was very friendly and communicative via the Marriott App in arranging transportation through Southwest Tours from the airport to the hotel. As a previous poster mentioned this was a different hotel and the ownership group changed it to the Four Points as to cater to Westerners and more affluent tourists.

I will say that the rooms are large and adequate for a Four Points brand but what surprised me was the complimentary breakfast buffet that I wish all Four Points had since it was like a "Sheraton-Lite" version of breakfast buffets with an omelet station. You can walk 5 minutes to White beach, take an eTrike, or the hotel shuttle to D'Mall and then walk to the beach. I then left for Shangri La and quickly forgot that I ever stayed at the Four Points since the experience was different. :)
