Missing bonus points - unresponsive hotel

I had a six night stay for three rooms end of last year with a 2,000 bonus point per night rate. The stays and normal points posted as normal but the bonus points never did. Filled out the missing point form and Marriott said the hotel would respond in 5 to 10 BD (or something like that). No word from hotel so I followed up with Marriott. Again told hotel will respond in 5 to 10 BD or something like that. Again no word from the hotel. Other than just wasting time asking Marriott who apparently just forward the request to the hotel to ignore, is there any actual way to get someone to action this? I have my emails with the bookings so there really isn't any doubt that the bonus points are due.

It's irrelevant which hotel brand it was. These points DO NOT POST, ever. You will have to fight for them. Many threads on this topic. I gave up booking any of these rates as it's just not worth the hassle trying to get the points credited. Contacting the hotel is pointless and futile as they will claim they have no way to fix it and/or have no way to verify you booked a rate with bonus points. Calling Marriott support usually winds up with the same response. The Lurkers will hopefully be able to help.

Save yourself the $5/night or whatever it is these days for the 'bonus points'.

Can you do a partial credit card chargeback for the difference in rates with and without the bonus points? If you can't document the rates for the time you made the booking, can you do a chargeback for the value of the missing points?

The Marriott lurker reached out almost instantly which I appreciate. Hopefully they can sort it out.

with these promos, the hotel has to post these via ebonus on mgs. Marriott does not post them but they do cover the cost since it is a marriott promo.

Your first sentence is true. Your second sentence is not true. Marriott does not cover the cost. MEOs are an optional rate hotels can choose to do or not to attract guests. It's very similar to rates that have F&B credits or other invective. Hotels eat the cost.

Just closing the loop on this. Marriott lurker contacted the hotel and they promptly fixed it, no fuss no muss. It turns out the original request for the missing points got directed to the wrong hotel. In fairness to Marriott there is another hotel with a very similar name so I can see that happening. Full credit to Marriott and the hotel for getting it all fixed up.
