The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, Qatar [Master Thread]

Hi,

I’m saying in the Ritz Doha in the next 2 weeks, I’ve booked a standard room with points redemption and am a Marriott Gold Elite. Was wondering if it’s worth asking via email for an upgrade to club room or better to wait until I arrive. The redemption has shot up so not worth rebooking…

Just wondering if you emailed them and how it turned out. Thanks

One of the welcome gift choices here was breakfast - unclear if one-time or for whole stay - as I already had breakfast included with FHR, I picked afternoon tea instead.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Ritz-Carlton Doha and would recommend this property.

Note: I booked with FHR - the 100 USD credit was told to me as 360 QAR valid at restaurants, room service, and laundry (unclear if spa was included or not as I didn’t ask).

Pros:
  • Upgraded to an Executive Suite and placed on a high floor with a great view of the West Bay skyline and fireworks at Katara Cultural Village
  • The couch was very comfortable - love to see a comfortable couch
  • Bed was generally comfortable - medium mattress, plush pillows, covers of fine plushness for climate
  • Shower pressure was great and strong
  • Nice welcome gift with fruits and chocolates
  • Given a choice of Elite welcome gifts - I picked points but then saw afternoon tea - they told me they would give me both - the afternoon tea was extensive with delicious desserts
  • Breakfast was great - friendly and prompt service with lots of water refills (despite packed breakfast) - good manakish, good eggs Benedict, good hashbrown, good pain Suisse
  • No issue with late checkout
  • Service was friendly
  • Love the atrium
  • Room service dinner to use the FHR credit was decent - great salmon, good French fries, decent flatbread (goat cheese slightly strong)

Cons:
  • Not much

I would come back.

It’s for the whole stay.

Also, even with prepaid FHR, points posted, which is great.

Had a short stay here. Proactively upgraded to an Amiri Suite which was huge for one night. The pool area is very much outdated and drinks by the pool were subpar.

Breakfast spread was amazing and also approved a late checkout at 7 pm with your24, however, we left early around 12 pm.

Don't think I would return to the resort as the St. Regis Doha is still far superior than the Ritz.
