Will be $10k short for ambassador, any real reason to push to get it?
I am currently at 98 stays for the year, but my dollar spend is at $7k for the year. Without me making an extra effort, I will probably be at $12k for the year. $10k short of the ambassador level.
If I only really stay in the more basic brands, and dont stay that much, is there any real benefit for me to spend the extra $10k to get ambassador?
Thank you

If your staying at basic/entry level brands not really worth it. If you were doing Autograph, JW, Ritz, Luxury properties I'd suggest it but even then 10k is a stretch.

On the other hand, if you are interested in spending $10k for a particular vacation that youll cherish and enjoy, then that would be the primary value you would receive for your spending. Getting ambassador as a bi-product of this, then would be a different discussion and may make sense.

My main value from the Ambassador program is being able to deal with queries directly via email rather than the web form. I can't imagine on a per hour basis this would be worth USD10k for most people - otherwise the less tangible parts vs Titanium (e.g. improved chance of an upgrade) could easily be replaced with less than $10k cash, unless you are staying at very high end properties and/or locations regularly. As you mention basic brands, I guess they can't really do much in terms of upgrades for you anyway - if you really wanted a suite one night and they rejected your SNA, just pay some cash and still have change from $10k.
So in short, no, definitely not worth it (coming from a current Ambassador, however I tend to stay in full service/luxury properties and hence am at 100+ nights and USD23k+ spend so far this year)

Ambassadors aren't really there to make reservations.
So slide me the $10K and I'll deal with customer service in your behalf to get all of your stays posted correctly. That's really what they're for these days, no?

In all seriousness, Ambassador is still in the process of being revamped internally and Ambassador members will see a lot more value in the coming months.

Theyve been revamping it for some time but its always been a downward trend. What info do you have indicating Marriott is trying to reverse the trend?

My personal AMB still has never reached out to me. I can see a name in the app and that's it.
So to the point of this thread, on no planet is it worth another $10K in spend. $1K? Maybe. $2K? Wouldn't bother.
