Looks like they are on the site now. Rates, especially award rates, are all over the place! In some cases you can get nearly 5 cents per point in value at the MGM Grand - https://public.tableau.com/app/profi...7-2200ET/LASGM (tabs at the top of that page to switch between the properties, plus a few others where you can get over 2.5 cents in value per point)

Also, oddly you can book a room on some nights with points, but not cash. For example, MGM Grand Dec 2-4.

Since things are live now, out of curiosity I went and looked at some rates at MGM Grand... holy crap insane. I can get better standard rates booking directly with MGM... and if I log in there and apply my casino discount rate it isn't even close to what Marriott is charging. Definitely see zero benefit for this 'partnership'.

I think there is value in this for first-time/infrequent Vegas visitors (like me). Planning a Vegas trip for this spring and the Marriott rates are only marginally more expensive than the ones on the MGM site, about $5 or so more per night. I obviously don't have any comps/offers lol. I don't see myself going too often so I find the Marriott points and the ENCs worth the marginal cost difference. Plus I'd at least get some marginal benefits

Has anyone had to use the "Guaranteed Room with 24 hours notice" benefit yet? I need it for a stay in March - reached out to my Ambassador, but I haven't heard back from her yet. I assume that's the way that we "activate" the benefit?

I would hope your discount rate (that presumably reflects your MGM spend and gaming) would be lower than Marriott's.

There are some decent award redemption on random mid-week nights. Labor Day night and the following three are 6k points/night at Luxor, which are among the lowest rates I've seen anywhere in 2024. (Although, with cash rates also low, it's probably best for AMBs who won't have all the added fees).

I love paying hundreds more to earn some measly Bonvoy points said no one ever

I’m also seeing lower rates via MGM, and I have no status with them. Issue is that all MGM members have a members rate of roughly 15% off for booking direct, which doesn’t appear available via Marriott’s booking channel.

Hyatt allowed booking through both channels theirs as well as MGMs to qualify/count
Marriott has only Marriott's interest at heart not that of its customers and they are hoping many of their regulars will look the other way

To be fair, you wouldn't get 15% off from any external booking channel either. At least you get ENCs, a $15 F&B credit (for Plat+), and the opportunity to complain about MGM on the Marriott FT forums by booking through Marriott. People are expecting this to be identical to the Hyatt/MGM tie-up and that's not going to happen.

Marriott cares very deeply about its customers. You just aren’t one of them.

You’d have to pay me a lot more than that to get me to stay at Luxor.

I would cancel the trip over having to stay at Luxor. Looking at the AI generated summary on TripAdvisor that aggregates the reviews… it sounds like a Fairfield Inn at risk of being deflagged.

The MGM Member’s Rate for those nights is $9/night before the $37/night resort fee, so its definitely not with redeeming 6k points/night for anyone who has to pay the resort fee.

Luxor is barely a (very small) step above Excalibur. Unless there is a convention or big sports event, you can usually get rooms for almost free and just pay the 'resort fee' at those properties.

Having stayed at both to get cheap EQNs for Hyatt status, I can say that while they are the bottom two properties in the MGM Vegas portfolio, Excalibur is actually much worse. The inside of the room looks like a Motel 6's and has no desk, whereas Luxor at least has the old Bellagio fixtures that they moved over when they renovated the five-star resort.

any experience with a MGM booked stay being able to be credited to Bonvoy for EQN? Or just not going to work ?
