Junk fees waived for Marriott Platinum/Titanium Elites?

I just want to confirm that destination/junk fees are not waived for Platinum/Titanium Elites?

Thank you!

Even bonvOY Ambassadors get punished.

Hyatt and Hilton do not charge junk fees on award stays.

Not officially.

But if you are in the mood to argue with the front desk about how most of the junk fee "benefits" are actually elite benefits, then some or all of the charge can be waived sometimes.

Really?! We're going to Las Vegas for 1 or 2 days. I see quite a few properties charge junk fees. Have elites been able to get those junk fees waived?

Only for Globalists. Everybody gets them waived on award stays at Hilton and Hyatt though.

I think you misunderstand me or I didn't put it clearly enough. The key concept is sometimes... occasionally... if you are willing to make a big fuss and the hotel has been lazy in preparing its list of "resort fee benefits".

That said, way before COVID, the Westin in Vegas for example used to waive part of the resort fee for elites who mentioned it. IIRC that hotel-level policy went away roughly around the time of the Marriott merger. But resort fees are such a part of Vegas that is probably the last place I'd expect to have much success arguing about it.

Write to corporate? Lol. Good luck with that. Its not like Corporate doesnt know about it and have some state mandates flying around with nothing to show for. This topic comes up every so often so not sure why it needs a new thread.

Marriott does not have junk fees. They do have resort fees and destination fees which are not waived.
