I am pleasantly surprised I was able to register for the promo without a glitch. The last few promos before this one, I had gotten the incorrect error message about being ineligible when the promo was open to all.

As others have already noted, while it is nice to have a promo, the offered points aren't compelling enough for me to rearrange my travel. I will probably still wind up racking some points from business trips during the promo period.

it guess it might drive to do something stupid - as mentioned - like an upcoming weekend long stay in Vegas to break up my stay between 3-4 different properties.... which for me and my needs, even if they were all next to each other (which I think some of them are ) would be silly.....

of note, all kidding aside - it looks like you get bonus points for having a branded credit card, but it does not require you to actually use the credit card for the stay?
...just have one?

For anyone not familiar, Marriott has been doing this for years and they haven't gotten around to fixing it. If you get this message, call in to CS to get registered.

Worst for the hotel company or worst for consumers?

If this benefits folks who do cheap one night stays, it strikes me as a very gameable promotion.

Every now and then I need these reminders that I am the dregs of the Bonvoy member hierarchy.

You are not eligible for this promotion. We're tired of your loyalty. Please go away and give your money to Hilton which happily gives guests 2x points for everything.

Am I interpreting the T&C correctly? They're a little complicated. I have this upcoming trip and have a Bonvoy credit card.

Courtyard 1: First stay, no bonus.
Fairfield 1: Second stay, so 2000 + 2000 for staying at a different brand.
Fairfield 2: 2000 points only as it's the same brand.
Springhill 1: 2000 + 2000 for staying at a different brand.
Fairfield 3: 2000 points only as it's the same brand.

So that's 12,000 total bonus points, right?

one night stands - yes, at different brands from what it sounds like.
for practical reasons, most of my stays are at CY - doesnt help me much unless I find a way to mix it up a little which, as others have commented, for 2k a stay, is probably not worth the effort.

regardless of status and spend, I find that I great treated better when I go back to the same property over and over and they start to recognize me

Thanks.

Some bonus points is better than no bonus points.

I have a number of stays at various brands planned during the time period, so it works for me.

Registered.
