The actual promotion hasn’t ended yet …

maybe with the summer one we will get 15.000 bonus points per night … so that we can afford to redeem some 5 nights at a 3* Marriott with the new dynamic pricing …

Any whisper of a promo after this one expires in a few days? May 4 is but three days away and nothing has shown up in promo central that I can see. I know Marriott has been shy about promos for a bit now but Hilton has already spun up their 2x/3x promo good thru Sep 5. I still prefer Marriott even after "stage 1 devaluation" hit but when one chain has a promo and the other doesn't......

I'm personally not expecting any further promos before September. Fingers crossed I'm wrong.

this is correct. Rarely any promos during peak travel season.

Doesn't seem to have stopped Hilton nor IHG (although to be fair IHG is the candy-land of promos). I'd rather keep building my nights total for the 50 and 75 awards but when some chains have promos and others don't the chains that do tend to filter up...

IHG does not have lifetime status, though.

Establish IHG Lifetime Status?

I suspect an early summer Covid surge and slowing economy might bring out another paid nights count double or some other similar lukewarm promo

I’ve already requalified for next year and I’m fed up of staycations (Hong Kong) and can’t go anywhere, probably for the rest of 2022 so only a promotion to incentivise stays (bonus points?) would motivate those who have already requalified. Otherwise, I’ll try to do more nights at Hyatt if they offer something.

Right now there is nothing to promote. Properties are selling out on revenge travel and weddings, naming their prices at levels that would have previously elicited a gasp.

As noted above, a combination of macro factors (e.g. commodity shocks, equity market downturns, fed action) could potentially elicit a need for a kick-start. But I wouldn't expect that to happen for at least a quarter or two - I'd think that most travel that has already been locked in through summer is considered by the travelers to be a sunk cost (even if not prepaid) and the hotels will realize that revenue.

I just received one today but I am not sure if it is a targeted promotion, earn double bonus points on stays of two or more nights from now until 7/31/2022. I had never received any targeted promotion since Marriott and SPG become one. If it is targeted, this is my first one but poor promo. However, it is better than none.
