Marriott's stupidly long and wrong title: Earn 1,000 bonus points and 1 Elite Night Credit each night

Promo not quite correct "language":
  • Limited-time offer: Earn toward unlimited bonus points and Elite Night Credits.
  • Register now, then earn from February 8 through May 4, 2022. Registration ends April 20, 2022.
  • Get 1,000 bonus points and one additional Elite Night Credit each night — all with no earning limits.
Notes:
  • 85 nights maximum (because of 85-night promo earning period)
  • Only stays made after registration count
  • Award redemption nights (Cash + Points, free night award certificates or a Points redemption are not eligible for the promotion. Rates available through most third-party online retailers and select travel agency rates) do not qualify
  • Homes & Villas by Marriott International stays, Marriott Executive Apartments® stays, and Marriott Vacation Club® owner-occupied weeks do not accrue bonus points or bonus EQNs
  • Only one room per property counts toward a member’s nights for the promotion
  • 1000 bonus points and 1 bonus EQN per eligible paid night to post to member account within 7 business days after checkout and will post with the stay
Marriott's Terms and Conditions:
Registration of your Marriott Bonvoy® account is required. Marriott Bonvoy members who register for this promotion by April 20, 2022, will earn 1,000 bonus Points per eligible paid night, plus one bonus Elite Night Credit per eligible paid night, during the 85-night promotion earning period. The promotion earning period is for eligible paid nights completed between February 8, 2022, and May 4, 2022, at participating Marriott Bonvoy properties. Only stays made after registration will qualify toward the promotion. Award redemption nights including Cash + Points, free night award certificates or a Points redemption are not eligible for the promotion. Current Promo: Make every night count twice + 1,000 points

This promo is due to end on 4 May; does that mean that 4th May is the last checkout date or would a check in on 4 May also be eligible?

Do the Marriott pundits know whether a new promo is likely to follow?

If I have a stay from May 1-May 6th, does anyone know if I get double elite nights for the first 3 nights at least? Or should I book it as 2 separate reservations at 2 different hotels to make sure that the May 1-May 4th stay at least gets the double elite qualifying nights? Thanks for your input!

You will get double elite qualifying nights for May 1-4th of your stay, you don't need to check out of your hotel or change the length of your stay.

Anyone knows how posting will be handled when using customise my payments? On the website it’s possible to make a 5 nights reservation where you select to redeem points or pay the cash rate for each of the 5 nights for example. Wondering whether u will get double elite night credits for all 5 nights in this case.

After several issues I do not trust Marriott's IT and considering it is really no big deal to make a trip down to the Reception and check out and check in to the same room again with two separate folios. That way you have a clean booking with less chance of a Bonvoy hiccup.

PS. You must ensure that you inform both Housekeeping as well as the Front Desk that you want the room to be cleaned and serviced on the day of the checkout/checkin tango!

I had just received the elite night credit but not the bonus yet. (had to file a missing stay request to receive the original elite night)

Are you able to look into this matter?

There are numerous reports on here (including my own) that Marriott's IT has correctly posted this promo for stays that straddled the beginning date so there's no reason to suspect that it will not handle stays that straddle the end date correctly.

In any case, the OP's nights within the qualifying dates do qualify for the bonus nights and points and there's no reason to make back to back reservations at the same hotel to try to force the issue. The hotel may well merge the reservations anyway as your back to back reservations will be treated as one stay for the purposes of posting your stays (or should according to Marriott's SOP).

If, for whatever reason, the OP's single stay posted with the promo incorrectly applied then you can ask Marriott to fix it because the qualifying nights do qualify. But I'd say this is unlikely given the successful IT implementation around the start date.

I recently had a 2-night cash stay that I didn’t get the bonus points and nights because Marriott IT designated the stay as an award redemption. -_-



I’ve been going back and forth with Marriott CS on this.



I lost two free nights gift certificates on top of this mess. I feel like Marriott CS blames me for attaching the gift certificate to a cash reservation.
