Just tried another BRG and it was rejected even though an earlier one was accepted. The rates, terms, and site were all the same. It's starting to feel like a toss-up whether you get approved or not for these things.

I have a question regarding putting a BRG through.

Does the date at which one can cancel have to be the same?

For example Marriott rate - can be cancelled up to 7 days prior to arrival date
Competing rate - can be cancelled up to 10 days prior.

I wonder if they both have to be the same?

Thank you in advance.

No they don’t need to be. Flexible is flexible with Marriott BRG, which is great. Hyatt, on the other hand, needs it to be the exact time too. Crazy. Anyway, good luck.

No it doesn't. Marriott is very flexible that way.

Has anyone had a BRG change the room from a flexible rate to prepaid? That's what just happened to me. I found it super odd that the agent would compare prepaid rates when I did not book prepaid vs the flexible rate that I did book.

No. You should reply to the confirmation email saying your claim was for a flexible rate. Was your original booking flexible? Did you put this in the notes section on the claim form (it’ll show at the bottom of the email they sent you if you did).
