This thread motivated me to log into my Bonvoy account. To my surprise I found 1 new promo. Is that a targeted one?

Yes, it does look like the new global promo based on the fine print. Note that award stays are not eligible for the bonus. Hopefully it would motivate Hyatt to come up with a new promo once the current triple point bonus expires.

1500 points for each stay is like 500 starpoints during SPG days. I'm old enough to remember when SPG used to have similar promos for 2000 starpoints per stay (equiv to 6000 bonvoy pts) or a free night cert for every 2-3 stays.

Clearly, Marriott believes it doesn't need to incent travel demand right now through points promotions. Others have a different idea. Its hard to tell if this is having any real impact on any financial numbers, but Marriott is betting it won't.

Guess Hilton is going to continue to get my business. They have a 2x (3x if using Hilton CC) promo set to start after the current 3x promo ends.
