Currently staying here on a 11 night stay. Upgraded using SNU to their premier suite. Suite is good, however much smaller size than the other EDITION in Tokyo.

They offered the discounted breakfast and we took it. Will revert back after the end of my stay with another review.

Finished my 11 night stay this past Friday. The hotel is brand new and with every new hotel, you will find some issues coming along with it.

I used my suite night upgrades for 10 out of the 11 nights and was confirmed 3 days out. I was then upgraded on my final night to the same room. I stayed in room no. 908 (which you can find a video of it on youtube by a Japanese Vlogger). Room was a s expected as we have seen a review of the room before travelling. Suites here are much smaller than the other EDITION but the location is unbeatable.

We recieved a discounted breakfast for 7K Yen for 2 adults with our child having it for free. We tried it a couple of times but stopped later. We also wanted to try room service and had made an order prior to their deadline (10 pm), but someone missed the order and it never showed up. They tried to fix it hours later but by that time we just wanted to go to bed.

Housekeeping was very strange as they always place coasters on top of the used glasses/cups. I don't know why they don't clean it as it will not be used. At least place new glasses in this case. But everything else was fine.

There were other minor issues during the stay but overall it was an OK stay. The GM called me days after checking out and he was super and apologetic.

But I have my fair share experience with new hotels, there will always be issues like this during the stay.

Would I return, No. But not for the reasons above. As I want to try the other EDITION as their suites are double the size.

Stayed here for one night this past Sunday. NUA with a request for a premier suite did not clear but was upgraded to a premier room as a Titanium member on the app the morning of arrival. Proactively offered late checkout and a welcome beverage at check-in. Not a huge fan of the EDITION aesthetic, but loved the location.

excellent service

Stayed 4 nights here in Aug. Applied suite nights and they cleared.
  • amazing service well beyond Japan's typical high standards
  • amazing location in the middle of Ginza walkable to many attractions and with many train options
  • have not stayed at other Edition suites to have a good comparison but we thought the suite was a good size especially for a hotel in a busy area in Tokyo
  • enjoyed the rooftop bar a couple times to wind down the night
Considered this and the Ritz. Glad we stayed here. Would stay here again.

Can you share some examples of the amazing service? What did they do that went so right?

  • Every staff member greeted us every time we saw them. When we left/came back, they always offered water and took our trash.
  • When it was raining and we called a taxi, they had the taxi drive into a covered space so we wouldn't get wet. This sounds like common sense but the way the building is structured this took some logistics and they seem to have a great procedure for this. They also had umbrellas ready for us.
  • They basically took care of our every need and was often very proactive.

Stayed here for 5 nights 2 weeks ago. Staff was always offering us water as we were coming and going, took our packages from us as we walked in, always walked us to the elevator, got us cabs and made reservation for dinner for us before we arrived. Email responses were always swift. Service was truly excellent.

Do you have the concierge email by any chance?

I must admit - the building immediately outside my window isn’t the best of features, but Japanese whimsy strikes again as the dad and children in it started waving at me. What a friendly country ;-)

I’m a bit confused - on paper, I shouldn’t have liked the Ginza EDITION as much as I did. No Elite breakfast, no real Japanese design, terrible view - but I actually liked it. Here are my impressions and photos:

Pros:
  • The staff really is super friendly - including the lovely ground staff that would open the doors and waved at me as I left in the taxi - there is a sense of warmth and friendliness that feels authentic and less forced than some other Japanese hotel experiences
  • Upgraded from Deluxe King to Superior King - unclear at difference - but placed on highest guest room floor (nothing better available online)
  • Bed was very comfortable - medium mattress with plush top, plush pillows, covers of decent plushness that weren’t too heavy but were never thin
  • 4 PM late checkout

Neutral:
  • Shower pressure was good by global standards but not the best by Japanese standards

Cons:
  • The view is just bad - guess that’s just part of Ginza!
  • No Elite breakfast due to the brand (I was also not told of any Elite discount) - but I wanted a McMuffin anyway ;-)

Both the cash and points rates are really high, so I’m not sure I’ll return, but I’m glad I came!

The warm wood in the interiors rally makes these rooms so much nicer and welcoming than the other Edition in town.

Does anyone know if they're giving free breakfast for elites?

They used to give an elite discount, they were rather discreet about it, you might only know once you get the bill to sign. I don't know if they still do. But it was never free.
