M Club to make Australian debut at Melbourne Marriott Docklands
Marriott International will open its first M Club lounge in the Australasia region as part of the 189-room Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands – the first newbuild Marriott in more than 20 years – the company has announced.
The exclusive lounge, which serves as a homely retreat for Platinum and Titanium Marriott Bonvoy and executive floor guests, is open 24/7 and features a range of dining options, lounges and private spaces for guests to socialise, relax or conduct business. Guests staying in M Club rooms can also gain access to the lounge as part of their reservation.
M Clubs offer guests access to a residential dining room and interactive kitchens with live cooking demonstrations each morning and evening. Regularly rotated breakfast and light snack items are brought out intermittently, with premium beverages and canapes offered by evening. A library also offers a space for guests to read or relax.

Sounds interesting, Docklands is a strange area with many empty apartments. Opens in June.

I've walked past this one a couple of times and have been waiting for a confirmed opening date.
You're right about the location: Docklands is a wasteland for the most part, but it is home to a large number of global corporates. It'll be convenient for that, as well as the outlet mall that it's part of.
The MClub looks like it's the star of the show here. With 12 nights to go until I reach my LT Platinum, spending a few unnecessary nights in this Club looks like a decent way to do it.

Should I ever make it to Melbourne, after about 2032 when Australia lets foreigners in again, I'd go out of my way to experience this sort of lounge service but I'd imagine they'll keep it up for a short while to get the reviews in and quietly lower the service to regular APAC levels (which are still a world away from your average US lounge).
Slightly off topic, but I've searched over the years - but never adequately found - for a definitive definition of what features constitute a M Club lounge as opposed to a regular lounge at Marriotts as I've never noticed anything distinguishing when I've knowingly visited one and lounge quality and service seems entirely dependent upon the individual hotel's management as opposed to any top-down brand values. Seems the Melbourne property will have a GM who values elites. We should reward them.

Worth noting there are now 2 in Melbourne:
https://www.hotelmanagement.com.au/2...-lobby-refurb/
Melbourne Marriott Hotel has introduced its new-look lobby following a AU$1.1 million refurbishment, the first stage of a broader transformation underway at the hotel.
The refreshed space includes the addition of the new M Bar as well as an M Club lounge – one of the first in Australia.
Melbourne Marriott Hotel’s General Manager, Gaurav Wattal, praised the work by the interior design team at One Design Office (ODO).
“They’ve been able to reimagine the space to create a modern and inviting atmosphere that flows throughout the entrance, lounge and bar areas, no matter what time of day or night guests arrive or wish to enjoy our heartfelt service,” he said.
“The updated colour palette of moody tone-on-tone grey and brown hues perfectly complements the ambient lighting and sophisticated timber and marble textures featured in the bar and lounge fit-out.
