This is a rather interesting list and about 75% of these hotels wouldn’t have made my top 100 list to be honest.

The Denver airport being on this list if bizarre to me.
|
the Denver airport location is a head scratcher The rest are standard vacation spots for families. Interesting that the only European property is County Hall London. No Paris or Rome

The Denver Westin is adjacent to the terminal whereas the nearest other hotels, at least last time I stayed there, are a 15 minute ride, after schlepping your bags to a shuttle stop, waiting, then schlepping your bags into the property, then back again the next day. I've stayed there after a ski vacation, for a flight the next morning, at least three times, all on points.
I've redeemed at five of them, and stayed at three others, but also have stays in lower-end properties near several of them. When I travel, hotels are for sleeping, after getting out early and returning late after exploring wherever we are traveling. No need to waste points on fancy facilities as long as the bed is good and the room is quiet, IMO. |
I normally defend Marriott but this smells of pure advertising. Especially when being privy to the actual
numbers. |

I would be interested to see the top 50 or top 100. |

On a regional basis, many hotels make sense.
Le Meridien N Fis in Marrakech is #2 for Middle East / Africa - cheap with points and not much international competition... Al Maha in the Dubai desert is #4. Points is again the correct option vs. the cash price. The Paris hotels in the Europe list are the ones costing fewer points, not the "best". The Asia list is similar. The Courtyard Shatin in Hong Kong is another great option using points, even though it's nobody's idea of an iconic HKG hotel. Similar could be said of the two BKK hotels listed. |
From the same source, the "top ten list of most-redeemed hotels in Europe" is :
10. MOXY Paris Bastille France; Paris 9. Hotel Prince de Galles, a Luxury Collection Hotel; Paris 8. JW Marriott Grosvenor House London; London 7. Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Spa; Lisbon 6. Amsterdam Marriott Hotel; Amsterdam 5. The Westin Excelsior, Rome; Rome 4. Courtyard by Marriott Paris Gare de Lyon; Paris 3. London Marriott Hotel Park Lane; London 2. Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel; Amsterdam 1. London Marriott Hotel County Hall; London |

I doubt that the ranking would be the same if looking at just more recent months, but who knows.
