Is this something that others get now and then after frequenting a property, or perhaps a larger amount? I know its not much but better than nothing.

Did you complain about anything during your stay? Hotels are not known to just randomly drop points in someone's account unless it's compensation for something going wrong.

it's the hotel added points for one reason or another. I had this a few weeks ago from a hotel in NYC where i stayed a year ago. The points they promised never posted ... then they did ... a year later ;)

No complaints whatsoever. If anything I thought they would be annoyed with me coming every other day for just one night and getting a free meal out of the $10 USD F&B credit. I'm on fairly good terms with this hotel as I just walk in and they hand me the keys to my usual suite (2715) with nothing else needed from my end.

Edit: MUCH needed spelling error from everywhere to everyday...sorry

Right. I'm trying to figure out what "one reason or another" is in this situation. It's not based on a complaint. Hotels don't just throw out 3,500 bonus points for no reason because points cost them money.

I've done nothing to give them a reason to give me this. I honestly didn't spend at the bar or order room service other than the F&B this may have been simple thank you. I'm sorry. 2715 is the room if some of you have access to databases.

In that case, ask them to take back the points.

Could be that your rates includes a certain number of points per night you stay.

For example the 7 Wishes rate in Thailand has between 500-1000 points per night and these post as EBonus a few days after the stay (manually by the property).

No this is part of the Welcome Back 25% off rate w/Breakfast

Sorry I'm new to the chain hotel world. I was simply asking if this is a somewhat regular occurrence (I'm only at 8 nights here within 31 days... ) as its a nice way to say thanks.

I'm sure it wasn't to say "thanks for staying" but there is rational reason why this amount has been credited.

Zero reason, though I'll literally ask when I return to the hotel later. I in fact originally cancelled the stay for the day after I recieved the points (sent a thank you/sorry messege of course) hence my posting here. As I thought I wouldn't see them in person again.

I did rebook another 3 nights (one day at a time) as I extended my stay in Istanbul for a bit longer before my flight tomorrow. If there was a complaint I assure you I would not be posting this asking for clarity, I don't come here to spread or give false information.

why now ?

I find the timing interesting. I don't expect to see any points to credit during a stay ?

I recieved the email a day after my latest one night stay while I was at Le Meridien Etiler for one night.

As ill-informed as this makes me seem, I stand by not posting false information. I was given 500points/night (my count was off by one, 7 not 8, which easily makes sense) due to the lounge closure and I only had breakfast once during my stays. I didn't receive the points from my earlier 2 stays at both Renaissances ( I didn't take breakfast, and didn't receive points due to the lounge closure) hence I was not aware of this benefit if lounges are closed and you choose not to have breakfast you are awarded 750 points for some brands under Marriott. I am sorry for wasting everyone's time and for not being more proactive in finding out the reasoning behind this.

See below.
