PAGING a Marriott Lurker: Who helps with blocked bonuses?
Hello Marriott Lurkers, I got a not eligible for bonus message despite the fact that I have not received a bonus as verified by both Chase and Amex since August 2018. The rules say more than 24 months ago. Is there a specific telephone contact at Marriott or Chase that you can call to clarify credit card bonus eligibility? Is there anyone out there that can help find out what is causing this or what would correct it?

We would recommend calling the Customer Service number on your card as they would be the ones determining eligibility.
Thanks,

unless the ineligibility pop up says its because of past bonuses you received within 24 months, another likely reason for a pop up (from AMEX) is due to your history with them, card openings, card spend, and generally if they think you are gaming the points system.

I have not opened a card with either card company since July 2018. I received my last bonus in August 2018. Your phone number people say they don't know why. Chase says there is no reason for the denial, that it is Marriott. Marriott customer service says it is Chase. Amex says it is Marriott. Here is what the website says.

The customer service number on my card? You do notice that it is an APPLICATION for a CARD, right?

They replied to your first post in this thread, which does not mention that is an APPLICATION for a CARD!
And they replied before you wrote any follow-up posts in this thread.

One DP (TPG) says:
Welcome bonus: Chase asks that you “please allow 6 to 8 weeks for bonus points to post to your account” after meeting the spend requirement. The issuer waits to post your welcome bonus until your statement closes. However, from personal experience, we’ve found that Chase may delay posting your bonus points if you meet the minimum spending requirement too close to the statement closing date. This is true even if all of the transactions for the minimum spending fully post and show on your statement. So, don’t cut your spending too close to the deadline if you’re counting on those points.

I applied for the Chase Visa card 1 year ago and was told I wasn’t eligible for welcome bonus since I had already received one from the Amex Visa. I’ll have to check, but I’d guess it was about 5 yrs ago. I thought you could only get one welcome bonus so never disputed it.

Because the post is about a sign-up bonus! Someone would not ask the question if they were not applying!

The vast majority of credit applicants apply for credit because they need credit, not to obtain a toaster or some points or whatever is on offer.
