Don't know if there was another thread about it but there s a 21K bonus for booking today. I also have an Amex offer for $200 back from $1000.

I was attracted to this but the minimum spend is $2100... good if you tend to stay at expensive rentals but the only reason I pick Homes and Villas is to book cheaper alternatives to expensive locations such as Paris or London

"Sort by price from low to high" is broken?

I enter my travel dates and then sort by price. The top 3 hotels are advertised as "from" $86, $87, and $93 per night. When I click through and confirm my travel dates, the actual prices become $224, $164, and $318 per night. This is for a 1-week stay.

So I guess the "sort by price" is not sorting by the prices for my entered travel dates. In that case, "sort by price" is useless?

Given Marriott's reputation, I'm not surprised. But why would they even include this feature if it is useless AND confusing?

Last Friday I made a reservation with them. Since this is my first trip with Marriott Villas, I'm not sure if I was able to enter my Bonvoy number correctly. I wrote to them twice, there is no answer. I wrote to Marriott - from there they say they can't see the reservation and I have to talk to Marriott Homes and Villas (which do not respond to my mail).
Can anyone share their experience on how I can contact Marriott Homes and Villas ?

Have you tried contacting the actual home management company that should show up on your reservation confirmation? They should be able to tell you whether they see your Bonvoy number or not, if not, they can add it and you can ask them to make sure it's relayed back to Marriott.

Thanks for the advice, it turned out to be the best suggestion so far. I wrote to the local company, they said they saw that it was an associated number, but it was confidential. They can't see it themselves and can't add a number.
In general, working with this Marriott Homes and villas turned out to be extremely difficult and ungrateful.

It's a bit frustrating yes.... my first and only experience so far was fine, but the points and nights only posted 2 weeks later. When I filed a missing points request, they asked for a copy of the bill, which I never really received.... So make sure you save all your emails and screenshots.

Angry Any recent experiences booking Marriott Homes & Villas?

I attempted to book a place in Orlando for spring break. They took the points out of my account and said they'd confirm within 48 hours. It's been 2 weeks and I've heard nothing. You can't call Marriott Homes & Villas. The titanium line emphatically states that they do nothing with Homes & Villas. The number they gave me rings to a recorded message stating that you can't call them, you have to email. So I've emailed. And continue to wait. This is bonkers. I can't even cancel this and look elsewhere because other than the email "confirmation" I got (a reservation number and a promise to contact me within 48 hours to confirm) and the fact that the points are gone, none of this shows up on my bonvoy account.

Another indication of Marriott's customer unfriendly focus

I tried to book on Homes and Villas last week and my credit card got charged, but there was no confirmation sent and the landing page after payment went to error.

I sent them an email via the website and they initially thought it had gone through, but then they called the foreign organization and emailed me back to say my reservation would be confirmed within the week we nice they spoke. Have not yet heard back.

Definite mess.

To the OP - Contact Marriott and demand the points be returned to your account since they were taken and you have no confirmation or reservation.

To renila - Contact your CC and request a charge back since you did not receive any confirmation or receipt from your order.

Also for both cases, send an email or letter to marriott corporate [email protected]and explain the issue and your experience with lack of response or service.

Even if the backend for this worked properly, I have noticed that many rentals on Homes & Villas are more expensive than they are on competing websites. Homes & Villas also has a minimum stay requirement while competitors do not.

So essentially, on cash bookings, you are paying extra for a less flexible home-booking that earns EQNs and points. It's even worse than booking SLH cash stays through Hyatt. Pass. No idea what the redemption values are like but I can't imagine they're terribly exciting.

I received a reply from M H&V. It's ... still a debacle, but for anyone else wondering, here's what they've told me.

Thank you for reaching out, happy to assist! I am so sorry for the delay in response.

I reviewed the details of your reservation number and verified that it is, in fact, confirmed. I’ve attached a copy of your folio for your review. As far as the 48 hour confirmation, I do believe it is talking about being able to confirm the payment has been taken. I will bring this up to our marketing team, and see if there is a way to reword that a little bit. I do also apologize about the confusion. Typically, the home arrival information is sent approximately 7 days prior to arrival. This information would come from VHC Hospitality.

For questions related to this home and for home arrival information, I would like you to communicate directly with VHC Hospitality, the home management company that manages this home rental as they will have more details to provide. For your convenience, I've included their Customer Support contact information below

Kindly note that currently, Homes & Villas by Marriott International reservations cannot be located as part of your member’s account on Marriott.com or on the Bonvoy App as the platform sits on its own website. In the meantime, you can use the Lookup Reservation function on our homepage to find your reservation. You will need your reservation number, check-in date, and the last name and email associated with the reservation.
For further reference, this is the initial email I received after booking. So ... a little off in terms of understanding.
What to Expect Next
Your Reservation is on Hold: Our team is verifying your loyalty information and points balance
Get Confirmation within 48 Hours: You'll get an email with a final confirmation or with next steps if there was an issue processing your redemption
And some further information about changing or cancelling a reservation

Please note that currently, the Homes & Villas site does not support reservation modifications. We are working on this enhancement. In the interim, for changes to a current booking, please first review the cancelation policy for the home booked.

1- If the last day to cancel your reservation without penalty has not yet passed (applies to 14, 30 and 60-day cancelation policies), please cancel the reservation on our website and rebook for the appropriate dates. Homes & Villas Reservations can be cancelled directly on the Homes and Villas website, under the "Look Up Reservation" option.

Please note prior to canceling:
* Rates and availability are dynamic on the site, meaning that once you are ready to rebook, the rate may vary and availability can change. Please note that once the reservation is canceled, the inventory takes time to reappear as available on our website. Unfortunately, we would not be able to know exactly when the inventory will be live on the site again and cannot guarantee that the home will still be available by the time it reached our website once again. The inventory can be live on the website at intervals between a few hours to a full 24 hours post cancelation.

2 - If the last day to cancel has passed, please contact the professional Home Management Company managin the home rented to verify the possibility of a modification. If the reservation was made with points, and the professional Home Management Company approves the change, they need to inform us via email of the approval so we can cancel the reservation on your behalf and return the points to your Marriott Bonvoy account in order for you to rebook.
