London Marriott Park Lane also closed until June. I received an email about the cancellation of my reservation and after checking my Marriott account, the reservation is indeed gone. However, my 50K points certificate has not been returned. Has anyone else had this issue?

- The Okura Prestige
- Marriott The Surawong

According to the press release, all of its 2,000 employees will still receive basic salaries and benefits.

LOL first of all the employees are getting paid if they use their anual leave is what I'm told.

Second they are shutting FIVE of their hotels but leaving Plaza Athene up and running and moving everyone from those five to their one hotel that is open and puts everyones health at risk.

Funny how they do not say that staff must use their leave up, and how everyone is being herded into one central location which goes against medical advise and common sense so they keep getting their room fees LOL.

Terrible ownership and leadership.

Yes, the issue is the system often ( in my case always) fails to "let go" of a free night cert. when you have cancelled a booking using one.

I always have the call in to get someone to manually redeposit it

It appears to me, though I could be wrong that JW Marriott Brickell Miami and JW Marriott Marquis Miami are both closed, I can’t find any availability.

I moonlight as a photojournalist in my free time. JW Marriott, Los Angeles 2020.3.28

I spoke with a contact I know at the Ritz Carlton, they don't know how long they can stay open. A few guest are still there but if a employee tests positive, I have been told they will have to close too.

And their lounge is still open which is unfathomable to me at this point, especially in California with strict mandates and directives right now with the Virus.

How are they providing club lounge access?! All of the other hotel properties have closed their lounges and restaurants.

I called the Ritz the other day when I read that the lounge was still open and they confirmed it definitely was open. Food presentation still happening but not as much food as usual they said. No chocolate dipping station either. But still, you gotta be kidding me that lounge is still open. Just stupid all around and I bet if the state officials knew this they would shut it down.

I’m presently a guest at the Sheraton LAX. The rate? $65/night. Seems like most guests are corralled on the fifth floor. No lounge. Limited IRD. Breakfast now at Starbucks. Beverage, fruit and pastry, which was a big step up from their recent offering of milk with NO CEREAL! 😹

State officials now know. Sorry to be the narc, but not sorry. I presently deal with this crisis at the Federal level. There is no daylight that would allow the Ritz to keep their lounge service open. They can do IRD which is to-go, but the lounge must close.

I'm interested to see if that will get the lounge closed. The officials might know now but will they really make it a priority to get the fancy shamncy $600 a night Ritz to shut the lounge down? We'll see.
