Courtyard Long Beach Downtown [Master Thread]

Anyone stay here recently?

A search found no master thread on this property.

We've stayed there a few times but the last time was a couple of years ago... There's a restaurant attached to it but no benefits, as I recall, nothing exceptionally good or bad stands out in my memory and if we needed a place in Long Beach, I'd not hesitate to book it if the price was right.

What did you want to know?

Was trying to decide between this, the Westin, and the Renaissance. The Westin is $30 more than the CY, and the Renaissance is $30 more than the Westin.
Is Westin worth the $30 more a night?

I've had recent stays at the Courtyard and Renaissance, but not the Westin. Locations for all three I think are really good, but the Ren is closer to the Aquarium (10-15 minute walk) and the main streets of Downtown Long Beach. The restaurant, James Republic, attached to the Courtyard is very good in my opinion, but as stated has no benefits for elites. The hotel is okay if a bit dark and moody from my recollection. The Ren is definitely a step up from the Courtyard and I've received upgrades over multiple stays as a Plat. Since the lounge is closed on weekends, the breakfast for elites is the restaurant buffet, which I enjoyed, so that may we worth something vs. a Courtyard F&B voucher.
