This wiki is based on flyertalk member reports and may not always reflect the most up to date situation at each individual hotel and/or may contain errors. Also, many hotels may have different types of windows based on the room you are in, so it is best to verify your particular room set-up at check-in. If you want to make absolutely sure that the windows in a particular hotel can be opened before making a reservation, it always best to call the hotel itself for the most up to date information. If you see an error in the wiki, wish to make a modication, or add notes, please post in the thread itself. A list of hotels where the window does NOT open at all is at the bottom end of this wiki.

List of Marriott Bonvoy hotels with windows that you can OPEN

There is a similiar thread over at the flyertalk Hilton section, and I thought it would be really useful to have here. Perhaps a wiki can be made once enough property details have been collected.

CANNOT:

Cannot open the windows at the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport. (Luckily, since there was a bird's nest outside my window with little birdie babies)

Cannot open the windows at the Cheyenne WY Fairfield Inn and Suites. (The power went out and I really wanted to open the window because it was stuffy in the room).

I suggest you start organizing your wiki immediately before the number of submissions gets unmanageable! Plus you could encourage people to post their entries right into the wiki.

I may be the odd man out, but whether a window opens or not does not even factor into my decision of which hotel to pick.

I had the same question. Many, many of the resorts have balconies, patios, etc. Also, sometimes a hotel has rooms with doors/windows that open and rooms where they don't -- again, the obvious is a balcony room vs. a non-balcony room.

May seem like an obvious question, but can you open the window and go out onto the balcony in BOTH hotels?
In some hotels there is a balcony but the door does not open at all. I had this situation in the Sheration Osaka Japan on a high floor. Also, some hotels require the guest to sign a disclaimer form before allowing the window or balcony to be opened.

Just specify in your post what your knowledge of the situation at the hotel. If you are aware of a hotel wth different window and balcony set-ups, mention that in your post and the wiki will include a summary of your observations for that property.

Both hotels are low rise building.
And the door leading to the balcony are glass sliding door.

Although the outside temperatures on both areas is not to be desired

Beat me to it.

Westin Times Square also opens. Back in the day when it had an uninterrupted view of the Hudson we watched (and heard) the Fourth of July Fireworks there.

St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London, UK
Windows do NOT open at all.

Apparently there a very small number of rooms in the more modern "Barlow wing" that are the exception to this rule....but the vast majority at this hotel are non opening.
