PSA Reminder: Annual Choice Benefits Selection Deadline January 15th

For those who have reached 50 and 75 nights during 2019, you have an annual choice benefit at 50 nights and a second one (from a slightly different list, including a free night) if you reached 75 nights.

These must be selected by January 15th (please don't ask me the exact time or time zone, although IIRC it's stated clearly in the T&C for Bonvoy annual choice benefits but YMMV) or each choice will automatically become 5 SNAs (five Suite Night Awards).

To select, I searched for annual choice awards when logged into my account on marriott.com (there's no apparent link attached to any of the information about my account there) and then clicked around to find the link. In my case, the 75 night link (*only*) appeared and then after I made the 75 night selection, the 50 night link popped up.

Shortly after making my selections, I got two emails from Marriott confirming my choices which gmail sent to "promotions."

Thanks for the reminder. Can't figure out how to find the option on my Bonvoy account. Planning to take the SNA's so default is fine, but I'd like to do this overtly instead of covertly.

Edit: Found it, already have SNAs. Must be because I chose them when we first qualified for Platinum back in December. They expire 12/31/20 so I guess those were for this year?

They should be, and SNAs from previous years should have disappeared from your account.

BUMP: only a couple more days to select choice benefits earned during 2019.

Free night choice

Is anyone else having an issue selecting the free night award? I selected SNAs for my first pick with no issues but when I try to select the free night award it says "We are sorry, this benefit is currently unavailable. Please check back later."

When I picked my choice benefits about a week ago, the system seemed to offer me only the 75 night choices first, then the 50 night choices. IIRC the free night is available only at the 75 night level. Could that be the problem?

I’m seeing the exact same thing for the free night option; guess I’ll try again on Monday

For what it’s worh, when I was choosing my annual benefits a couple of weeks ago, my computer browser’s ad blocker was doing something preventing the form from going through correctly (I think it let me go to the confirmation page but didn’t actually send me a confirmation email and would still let me select a gift option when I refreshed the page). Turning off the ad blocker allowed the form to work as normal.

I did not have that particular problem but one of the agents from Customer Care told me that some ppl have had difficulty and she advised to log out between each choice benefit you make.

Please provide your Marriott Bonvoy account number to us via private mail or by email below if you still could not select your annual choice benefit.

BUMP again. The deadline is approaching, and who knows what time zone Marriott/Bonvoy will apply. Pick now or let the system automatically give you the SNAs.

Also, there have been reports of people making mistakes and picking five elite nights (to apply to the previous year) when they meant to take five SNAs, so be careful.

Once you confirm the choice, it cannot be changed.

When I tried again on Sunday, I no longer got the error message and I was able to pick the free night. Thanks!
