Comments: Booked a late minute overnight trip to Edinburgh on a pay in advance rate (so couldn't use a SNA) and when I checked in, warmly greeted and notified I'd been upgraded to a suite. I paid £131 for my room and if I'd booked the suite, it would have cost me £249. The suite was fantastic, especially as it overlooks the Usher Hall and Edinburgh Castle.

Comments: Last minute booking, no suite available for sale. Club lounge offering was MUCH WORSE than it used to be (4-5 years ago). Cost Cutting seems to be the major trend here. Service was still good all around. Overall a so-so stay and i would NOT return. There are many better choices in BKK to choose from.

Aloft Bangkok, Ambassador( until 01/20), 1 night Seniors discount, upgrade to suite (3111). Bangkok is very quiet ( BKK as empty as I’ve ever seen it, including during other outbreaks/ political mayhem, etc), 6 people having breakfast at 0800. I like the Aloft; it’s a lot of bang for your buck ( if that’s the right phrase...)

Comments: App showed the upgrade on day of arrival, several hours before check-in. The hotel is an older property, but IMHO they really did a good job on the renovation. The suite was not the most modern, but it didn't feel dated either. The suite was facing the main thoroughfare of Jakarta and on a relatively low floor (7th out of 12), but I didn't have any problem with noise at all. Compared to the other chain hotels I have stayed in Jakarta (GH as a GP Diamond, Doubletree as a HIlton Diamond, and Sheraton) this hotel really stood out, especially the service from the staff, who was operating on a level that I never thought was possible for Jakarta. I was so impressed, I believe I have found my new home in Jakarta.
