Marriott property charge showing up as Wyndham?

I recently stayed at a Design Hotels in Berlin (Provocateur) where my bill was subsequently posted as Wyndham:

Has this happen to anyone? Because it posted as Wyndham, I was denied 6x points on my spending (not a big deal, but would have been upset if I was there for more than one night), but I thought it was quite unusual.

Anyone had a similar experience elsewhere?

They've been part of Design Hotels for a while (I think) - so it would have been SPG before?

Yes, I had it happen at Le Meridien Sentosa (Singapore), more than 1 year after it had changed from Movenpick.

I gave up after 2 attempts to get Amex to add the extra SPG points.

I have had same issue, i.e. charges showed up under old name, with other properties before but that was not long after reflag.

Design Hotels don't qualify for Amex bonus.

Huh - that's new to me as I thought Participating Bonvoy Properties definition included all Marriott-affiliated properties except home shares.

Edit: T&C as of 2017 - the new ones refer to "visit Marriottbonvoy.com/about for a list of participating Marriott Bonvoy locations"

Interesting. My bad. I have not stayed at Design Hotels under Bonvoy. I have stayed at Design Hotels multiple times under SPG and never received any SPG Amex bonus.

I had this happen with a Hilton Home2Suites that billed as a Comfort Suites. I noticed it before checkout and inquired, but they assured me it would count on my Hilton Amex. And for once, they were actually right! Somehow Amex knew that the merchant number was Hilton.

Hi samwise6222,

We would like to help look into this with the partnership team if you could provide your Marriott Bonvoy account number to us via private mail here or by email below.
